Bravo to Maidana, brilliant game plan. Throw punches in the loopiest and craziest angles. Smother Floyd so he can't counter. Never stopped jabbing. Rugged as rugged can be. I really thought it was going to be a one sided beatdown.

BUT, this fight wasn't as close as you think it was. Floyd figured him out after 5 rounds. After rewatching this fight, it was the same old Floyd. He is obviously slipping from his younger days, but he's the same compared to the Canelo fight. It was Maidana that made this a tough fight for him.

I'm not going to post scorecards because of the fact that it's going to turn into something I don't want it to. BUT, just know the very, very close rounds, I gave it to Maidana to be generous. Some rounds where majority of people thought he lost, I rewatched it like three times and I still didn't see how it was so obvious to give it to Maidana. Floyd landed the WAY clearer shots. After all the smoke and mirrors of a big fight, Floyd won this fight pretty clearly in my eyes.

The main thing is, Maidana wasn't as effective as I thought he was when I was watching it live. No rematch necessary, it would be a waste of an opponent.

    madona gassed you idiot.

first 2 rounds you pretty much see what madona is doing, why do you need 5 rounds to figure out what madona is doing, genius?

pedjr aint figuring anything, he just wait til the guy tires, that;s when he gets into offensive mode.

this is pretty easy to FIGURE OUT.:good

hardly brilliant by maidana. he wasted a ton of energy on wild nonsensical shots in the first few rounds.

So, you're saying every fighter Floyd "figured" out was because they gassed?

So Mosley gassed at the end of the 2nd round?
    Guerrero gassed after 2 rounds?
Why did Castillo lose the first 6 rounds? Cuz he was gassed and then got his second wind after the 6 rounds?

Have you every boxed before? Do you know you can predict patterns in an opponent after boxing them for a while? What about using a right hand, and if that right hand starts to work, then you keep using it? Isn't that figuring it out? Or if you get caught with a right hand, don't you try to figure out why you got caught, then try to avoid it again?

    Figure it out...

I have to disagree with you on this. Maidana landed some very good shots in the first couple of rounds. When I talk about brilliant game plan, I'm talking about Maidana making it very difficult for Floyd to counter in the pocket.

    lmfao @ prohater

Why did Pacquiao get KTFO6? Does he train to superman into a right hand counter. Ever heard of not getting KOd? You would think Pac learned the first 2X he got KOd. He can't adjust after all these years? I like your ******* logic.

I watched it at a movie theater on the big screen from a dead on center seat. I saw Chino land plenty of solid shots mostly to the body, especially when he had him on the ropes. He also had a good jab in the middle of the ring. Floyd controlled the middle of the ring & landed solid shots himself. That is why I was not surprised by the close punch stats. I had Chino winning 115-113 but I knew he would not get a decision in Vegas & I can live with that. However, Floyd claiming he made it a tough fight for the fans is BS! After he thinks about the fight for a while he won't give Chino a rematch.:bbb

    Hey Raider,

I respect your opinion, but obviously disagree with it. I seen a Floyd fight live at the theatre before also, but I always see something different when I rewatch it with a very analytical view. You should try watching it again, I think you might see something different also. Preferably in HD.

I watched cotto mayweather live and had him barely getting the win by 1 or 2 rounds. Yet after i watched the replay i only gave cotto 2 or 3..

Its true alot of people get swept up in mayweather not looking dominant like he does in 90% of his fights. This fight however was just alot of aggression by maidana but a huge majority of it in-effective. I was actually suprised how well he did in the centre of the ring at times
