Fair enough Kiko is the weak link, although I think he's got a little better since Frampton, the point is there are 4 fighter's who could fight and no fight would be a foregone conclusion. The fact that Kiko has a belt would see it marketed as a real 50/50 anyhow.
If you think Quigg would be a huge favourite over Kiko them I've got some land to sell you. It's fine lad ....when the tide is out! Monroe beat Kiko at a very bad time in Kikos career. Forget about that now. The current version of Kiko, since he teamed up with team Martinez, would in no way be underdog against Quigg.
didn't suggest a defeat to rigo would mean fleeing the division - was hinting that a move up in weight is inevitable and experience gained fighting a true ring great like Rigondeaux would only be beneficial when the SB weight gets too tough to make.
well Kiko would certainly be the underdog with the bookmakers, not massively perhaps but there's no doubt Quigg would start favourite.
Kiko is on a big roll and is a different fighter since munroe and his dad was ill when he fought frampton. He is no weak link. He is fairly one dimensional as a fighter but is effective and is always a threat. His confidence must be sky high at the moment
Quigg has a far better skill set, has added another 20-30% in power punches that would more than earn Kikos respect. Kiko bangs, but is too one dimensional for Quigg who would beat him with a bit to spare
It would be a mistake to dismiss Kiko as a simple one-dimensional slugger. He is deceptively hard to hit clean, as he showed against Frampton. That bob-and-weave attack of his, coming in low, combined with his short stocky build makes him a harder target than people realise. Remember against Frampton he was only a little bit down on the cards, and Carl is a very precise, hard hitter. There is no guarantee Quigg beats Kiko at all, never mind easily.
Quigg beats him but in a very hard fight imo, the idea that Quigg wins with plenty to spare is laughable, no SBW bar Rigo can beat current Kiko Martinez easily. Quigg wins but no question that Kiko wins several rounds and catches him clean at times, the only thing that might let Scott down is if his chin doesn't cope but i think he'd survive come back strong and win a 116-112 type decision but it won't be easy anyone who thinks that is wrong. You know as well Kiko won't come for the payday he will look at Quigg as a fight he can win.
