That article should explain everything. Maidana fought with PowerLocks, which have more protection for the hand but pack less of a punch and have foam instead of horse hair like Everlast MX gloves.

He had no legal grounds to "make" him do anything that wasn't stipulated in their contract. Again, what was he gonna do if Maidana showed up in the ring wearing whatever NSAC approved gloves he wanted to? Walk away from the fight and leave tens of millions sitting on the table? Yeah, right. Maidana had a choice and he chose to come in the ring with the black and yellow Everlasts.

Maidana did have a choice and Mayweather being the A side took advantage and took away that choice. Stop acting like Floyd is the NSAC cuz you know he's not, but since he is the A side fighter, he takes full advantage by putting up demands at the last minute, he shouldn't be taking advantage like that taking away his opponents strengths he's a sneaky sob.
