If you have boxed, or have done any other combat sport you'd know that you can't just always do that against a guy who's using wide hooks.
How many times have you seen a guy get caught just at the moment he gets clear of the ropes? You'd have to time it precisely, and Floyd is no fool (in the ring)

That's cause floyd doesn't really duck roll under, he just leans and creates distance. Look at pac-margo pac-rios, those mofos would throw hooks all day but he would just duck, roll and twist.
