I realise that many fans don't like the situation with multiple bodies and multiple champions, but Quigg seems to get more flack than any other boxer over his title - why is that?
because people on here actually call him a real world champion a lot wich annoys people. also he got handed his title then drew against some unknwn in the supposed title fight Jürgen Brähmer, Dmitry Chudinov, Nicholas Walters, Juan Carlos Reveco all hold the same title as him and no one considers them world champions really so it should be the same with Quigg
I know the circumstances around his acquisition of the belt and what people think of other title holders in similar circumstances, but Quigg seems to get a massive amount of negative comments and 'paper champion' taunts thats others don't.
He had the interim title and suddenly he was promoted to Regular WC. And then he fought against Salinas to defend it and got a Draw... so it's worst than a vacant belt because he fought twice against a shot Munroe to get an interim, and then fought to a draw to get a Regular title... while the true WBA champ is Rigondeaux who holds the Super belt... Hahahah it's a joke. Not just about alphabet belts, it's more about paper undeserved titles.
well him and Hearns also continuously go on about how his a world champion which probebly pisses people off
Mainly because his promoter uses it as a means to make Quigg seem a better fighter than Frampton at every opportunity he gets
Feel free to only take part in threads that interest you. I dunno, I have no problem with Quigg or Hearn referring to him as a World Champion, he is the WBA World Champion, thats it. I know many people would like there to be 8 weights and 1 World Champion in each but thats not the way it is. I don't think Quigg should be singled out as any worse than other belt holders.
Not really asking for people to repeat the same old tired lines, just wondered why Quigg is singled out for vitriol so much more than other title holders.
A lot of jealous Frampton fans on here. They are watching their man duck champion after champion and it's hurting them.
I dislike Quigg because I read in boxing news that when all his gym went over to Las Vegas he stayed in his hotel room the whole time and when an interviewer asked him why he said he was training himself for the boredom when he is in a training camp over there. What an absoulute flid.
thw worse thing about the WBA regular title isn't that it is mickey mouse - which it is. but it makes decent fighters the butt of many jokes. anyone who knows boxing knows the title is a load of bollocks.
I agree with the OP people need to stop moaning there are some very exciting times on the horizon in the Super-Bantamweight division, and im sure within the next 18 months we will know who the number 2 is after Rigo.
TBH not many if any of our Brit boys get any positive feedback, they have all done something wrong. :good
