What do you think of Wilde vs Lynch. Lynch was as strong as an ox, punched beastly and had an iron jaw. Wilde is an ATG puncher, elusive with an Iron jaw. Both were brilliant boxers. Wilde more patient, Lynch more explosive. Both had great footwork, defence and spacial awareness. Brilliant counter punchers. I think if Lynches ridiculous Iron jaw holds up vs Wilde's ridiculous power then Benny could well beat Wilde up, taking him out late.
Sorry for sounding like a dick but the gulf in class between the two is huge. Ken Buchanan is one of the most technically gifted fighters the sports ever seen. He was also nails and had a jaw that teak it made Froch's seem like Amir Khans. Ken was also as fit a fighter as you'll see. He could either jab Hatton a pizza face and make him look silly over 12/15 or just plain beat him up, probably stopping him late. Ken had warm up fights between title fights against guy's on the level of Hatton. He competed in one of the toughest era's in history.
As I'm over 14 I don't feel the need to add 'NO HOMO' to that statement, quite obvious how I meant it. If I had said "Hatton was so ripped and muscular going into his fight with senchenko, it made me remember why I liked him so much" you may of had a point :thumbsup He probably would mate, but it would be a very good fight whilst it lasted don't you think? Maybe you're right, maybe it isn't quite worthy of being considered in the 'best mythical all time british fight' category haha
I'd very slightly favour lynch I think he has the better feet and I think possibly the quicker of the two . but it's really the sort of match up that is really a toss up
I agree KB was far better, am not suggesting Ricky was as good, but the way Ricky put pressure on fighters it would have been good viewing. Ricky I think would have had his moments, causing KB some trouble but think he would have been stopped. Imagine it would have been like his fight v Mayweather, would have showcased KB skill set
Froch v Calzaghe would have been very good, but Benn v Froch would have been blood and thunder lol. Calzaghe was that good he never got in that type of fights
I'd go for berg Berg was a fighter who the Americans compared very favourably with greb . bergs out-put and work rate and speed really impressed the yanks who generally scoffed at british fighters and he soon became a fan favourite. he was very durable ( even though many refer to his ko loss to canzoneri) . He beat canzoneri at lightweight and in the American press it was described as the worst beating canzoneri had taken in his career at that point . The 2nd meeting where berg was ko'd he was severely weight drained and at the time had been fighting at light-welter it was billed as a world title fight at lightweight and light-welter. A reporter noted that berg had no colour and was weak in training camp. So in this fight Neither fighter having a massive punch indicates a distance fight as both were hard durable men . Berg would swarm Buchanan and work like a mad man in close but Buchanan had the ability to box brilliantly and I am sure his left to the chest would upset bergs balance at times when he rushed in as he undoubtedly would. both would win enough rounds to have us arguing about who had won
Buchanan beats hatton quite conceivably by late stoppage between the 11th to 14th rounds perhaps with hatton suffering a big amount of damage to his eyes/face with hatton a mile behind in the cards
