bobs premise of building a stadium is that the common fan will get shut out...if you have 40k seats the common fan will have access....which makes sense and sounds reasonable...however..in the end with ticket prices varying the gate would be the same in either venue....they would make no more money in a 40k stadium than at the MGM....and the ppv numbers would be through the roof.....bob actually cares about the common fan? i dont think so....

like Vic said....floyd asked for random blood/urine testing....its a pretty easy accomodation....bob says in a quote "manny does not want to be harrassed"....its such a simple thing to do....this was when the fight was at a fever pitch...and pac had 50 percent of the pie with no qualms about it from floyd.....and they walked(and if you notice how bob had been talking about dallas before that whole thing youd know he was never serious and had dallas on his mind the whole time).....and in the years following arum has spewed utter nonsense as you can see by the post of the quotes(and even that is cut off around 2012...you can add almost another 2 years of bull**** quotes/excuse).....

it has simply given floyd as bad taste...he can see arum has no real interest....and floyd has the attitude of why even bother now....its just gonna be the same old bull****.....he offered manny 40 mil and they were going to pay bob for pacs services(bob was going to get money and his name on the banner)...but they didnt want bob involved in the promotion because of his bull**** and antics....bob offered them the same sort of deal in regards to a donaire/mares fight.....bob got a taste of his own medicine there and didnt like it.....

 

But Floyd said he doesn`t care about the money as the money dont mean **** what was more important to Floyd during his little rant was his family and his health.He said straight up that he wouldn`t fight Pacquiao and be injured for life.He was content to be smart Floyd and a rich coward.

Why would you defend a person who has said many times that Pacquiao would hurt him and possibly disable him.

Floyd wanted no part of Pacquiao the day his Daddy whispered in his ear that he feared for his sons life.

Floyd certainly is smart it`s just a shame that his fans are not!!!

 

the problem with what you say is this....

it didnt start out that way....floyd had genuine intentions of making the fight and had no problem working with them to make the fight.....so why would floyd say this from "jump street" if he was trying to make the fight

arum has grown to be the roadblock and become a baby.....straight up pac had 50/50 ....floyd wanted random testing and pac whined about it....so floyd said ill give you a 14 day cutoff since you dont wanna be bothered or whatever....and they walked........you want floyd to complain about arum from the start when working with arum wasnt a problem for him 5 years ago....it has grown to be a problem....a pointless endeavor since arum keeps finding ways/reasons to not make it

floyd gave 50 percent over and a 14 day cutoff....if there was ever a sweeter deal on the table for pac i dont know what/when it was.....that was the best its ever going to get......and they walked and had the clottey fight in their back pocket the whole time.....meanwhile floyd had to get berto to step aside for the shane fight....cause the pac fight was the only one he was lookin at....meanwhile arum/pac were pretending to want it knowing they were doing clottey the whole time

 

Does it really matter??? At the end of the day they both made excuses, the only thing that matters is the bottom line.
Financially one is doing better than the other.
Legacy wise, it's debatable, and always will be.

 

Too many excuses. The "fearing" for his health thing was before arum.

 

Because he doesn't believe his own hype and he is afraid for his health, I genuinely believe that Mayweather thinks he would lose to Pac and get hurt in the process. Far better to cherry-pick for the rest of his career; idiots still buy the fights and he gets to keep his zero and his health. I can't really blame him, it just means that history wont be kind to him.

 

He finally found an excuse he knew couldnt be resolved.

 

I also agree with Victor, I even think he's spiting the majority of media and fans who quickly sided with Pac's refusal to take stringent testing...Floyd has the right to be pissed about all that, it never made sense.

you guys take the quote and change the context so it sounds cute and fits your argument

health comes first is why the fight didnt come off....because manny couldnt take a drug test(i dont know why ..im not saying he was on something)......you guys just change the context of what it means cuz it suits you.....if floyd had said "im not fighting manny pacquiao....health comes first" without proposing a drug test....then youd have a point

I have no doubt MP would fight floyd next but I do doubt that Floyd would take the fight.

how come you guys dont say "gee manny why didnt you take the test in 2010 when you had the best possible deal going"???

instead you say "health comes first"...and "manny said hell do all the tests now"....but how come he refused in 2010?

If you don't believe it's spite, check out Floyd interview on the front page. He's cool, calm, collective throughout being interviewed by a completely non judgmental or threatening female. He gets asked about Pac and you can see his whole attitude change, then he goes on about Pac begging for a payday, it's clear he's enjoying Pac "begging" and being "broke" it seems obvious to me it's spite.
