Floyd had more trouble against Maidana than anyone expected him to.

What were the other occasions when unstoppable fighters slipped for the first time, even if only slightly?

Gay Mike... Tillis showed his limitations..Guys like Tucker Smith showed he was surviveable....Bruno showed you could land on him..Biggs and Tubbs showed for a round that you could pepper him with jabs...Buster D put it all together.

"Gay" Mike? What the hell does that even mean?

The man competed in a combat sport at the highest level and became a legend. What the hell is so gay about that?

I have this notion that for certain boxing fans excessive viewing results in pugilistic dementia. The other option is that these are clear-thinking human beings, and it is becoming less likely with every mind-numbingly stupid post I read.

The topic question was when he looked beatable. Not surviveable,or able to be hit by jabs for a round, etc. The fact is up to when he fought Douglas, he looked totally unbeatable, especially when you looked at all the heavyweights that were around at that time. You could say it was only until the middle of the Douglas fight that it was the first time ever that you thought that Tyson could actually lose.

Floyd didn't look unbeatable against Castillo the first time.

Often they lost outright like Tyson to Douglas or Curry to Honeygan but Hearns first looked vulnerable against Shields and on another extreme Hagler clearly looked long in the tooth against Mugabi.

    Roy Jones vs Tarver 1

    Louis vs Conn 1

    Frazier going into Foreman 1

    Tito vs Hopkins

    Sullivan vs Charlie Mitchel

    Corbett vs Sharkey

    Foreman vs Ali

Jones had already lost to Griffin. Griffin had his moments and was ahead on points at the time of the DQ. Jones had already been dropped by Lou Del Valle and had plenty of trouble vs. Eric Harding.

Tito had already lost 8 out of 12 rounds vs. DeLaHoya. He had also went to war with David Reid and Fernando Vargas, both fighters dropped him. He had also been dropped by several other fighters but always got up to win.

Louis had already got KTFO by Max Schmeling. Yes, he looked better after the Schmeling fights and going into the first fight with Conn he was viewed by many as the best ever at HW.

Foreman was supposed to kill Ali. Ali had lost to Frazier and Norton. Sure, he won decision over them in rematches but Foreman had KTFO of both men (KO2 Frazier and KO2 Norton). He knocked them down so many times I lost count. Big upset. I'm sick of watching the fight though.

Frazier was a big favorite vs. Foreman. Frazier had beaten Ali, Ellis by KO, Mathis by KO, Quarry by KO, gotten a clear win over Bonavena after a tough fight in their first bout. He was supposed to figure out a way to win, he didn't!

Clay / Ali against anyone who nailed him with a left hook.

Liston when Ali mesmerised him with pure speed.

Foreman when Ali fvcked with his brain.

Hagler when the much smaller, Duran stood in front of him, and did more than expected.

Or against Oscar de la Hoya:nono

Mayweather has declined since he fought Hatton, he and his delusional fanboys may think he will be able to fight well into his 40's without losing, BUT it ain't happening:-(

I'd say Foreman's first vulnerable showing was against Gregorio Peralta. George did enough to win the fight but it took one hell of an effort.

I don't think you know what KTFO means. Joe Louis got knocked out because of the accumulation of Max's punches. After he fell, he was still conscious and just turning and shaking his head trying to collect himself.
