How do people feel about Khans power?

The obvious main talking points are his speed and his chin with most agreeing they are both his best and weakest attributes respectively.

People seem fairly split on his power though.

Collazo and Maidana got me thinking. Both were supposed to KD Khan, but when it came to it he KD them.

Thoughts? Where do you place his power compared to other Welterweights?

It`s overrated imo. He has potential to be a great fighter but he needs to fight more like Paulie Malignaggi than Manny Pacquiao.

He hit Garcia and Maidana with the kitchen sink and still couldn`t really give them a good buzz.

How is it overrated? nobody overrates it. For a long range boxer it's decent. As good or better than the other boxer boxers at 147 (Bradley Alexander Paulie Boner)

It's good enough considering his other assets. If Khan could hit like a truck he'd be a monster...same goes for Bradley. Can't have it all though...Pacquiao used to almost have it all lol but that's why he's an ATG.

His chin is overhyped ever since his Prescott loss. It's his mentality, defence, inside fighting ability, recovery power & ring smarts that is bad. Those factors i've highlighted the ones which he is trying to improve and has improved under Virgil...He shouldn't rely on inside fighting ability...but Virgil is still helping him understand it as it's vital in defence...knowing when to pull away etc etc.

I think his chin is actually underrated and power overrated. Watch the fourth round of the Garcia fight he really took some huge bombs, Garcia was throwing as hard as anyone I've seen and khan took em until it was too much. He's gotten caught with some good shots that would floor most people. I thought his power was above average but seeing collazo walk him down with his hands down eating punches has made me question it. Yes I realize he dropped and hurt him, but, if he had above average power or even average he woulda got him outta there earlier with his hands down.

He has TKO power and really that's all he needs. Straight shots with speed and an accumulation. Collazo was walking him down in round 6 to hit the canvas twice after. He never had a short hook or was a power puncher. His boxing setup his TKOs.

Also Khan has a weird ability to not have been downed by a bodyshot or even cut (as far as I know) despite fighting a number of bald guys.

Perhaps Khan's power is overrated. We will soon find out. However, I wonder if Collazo was just getting thoroughly out boxed and figured he could possibly psyche out Khan by trying some tactics to intimidate or bait Khan.

Collazo fought with his hands down and still nearly KO'd Khan.
Meanwhile he mocked Khans power, or lack of power.
Khan needs to start avenging some losses if he wants some credibility.

I'd favor him to brutally KO hype jobs Broner and Thurman

Khan's power looked better at 147, he could not set up the right hand properly vs the south paw, watch in his next fight he will do some damage with his right hand, plus when Khan goes to the body he can hurt you too, he needs to throw to the body.

He badly hurt Maidana to the body in their fight. People forget he was seconds away from having a 1st round knockout on his resume against Maidana.

Khan can generate a lot of power, but he never sets his feet and brings his center of gravity too high off the ground like an amateur.

The rare times he does sit down is when he's going to the body and you'll notice his body shots are very hard

    Respectable power.

he'll never been a KO artist, but you cant just ignore his power and simply walk him down either.
