Because he's afraid of losing his 0. As simple as that.... and Pac got a good chance of beating him.

This whole argument that Pacquiao's ppv numbers aren't on Mayweather's level is such horse-sh**. I mean, honestly a majority of his recent opponents (Guerrero, Ortiz, Maidana) aren't even PPV fighters. Pacquiao is the second best attraction in boxing....period. So that means he's Mayweather's closest competition. That means.....he needs to fight him to let us know that he is indeed the best. Otherwise, there will always be doubts.

In 1992...How did we find out Jordan was better than Drexler??

In 2012....How did we find out Usain Bolt was better than everyone else at the 100m dash??

We don't know if Mayweather is better than Pacquiao (or vice versa) until they fight.

Even though Pacquiao denied the first drug testing, ever since after the first negotiation, Pacquiao is willing to take those tests and other demands by Mayweather.

Mayweather talks about PPV numbers, Pacquiao getting out boxed, he has losses etc, is a very dumb excuse considering the opponents he had fought previously like Maidana, Ortiz, Guerrero etc all have losses & are not BIG PPV stars.

He just doesn't make sense at all.

I'm curious to see what the people think.

Supposedly Manny is "contemplating" promoting himself which would be a step in the correct direction in terms of making the fight. Let's say Floyd reached out to Pac while he's "comtemplating" what steps do you think would need to be taken in order to make the fight.

I wish Floyd would intervene pacquiao's contemplation process. I feel like that 40 million guarantee floyd initially had might go a long way in atleast doing ONE fight outside of the top rank banner.

I don't care how late the fight is. If it happens theres no way it does any less than 2.5-3 million.

thats like 200-250 million dollars. More than enough to go around and negotiate some type of deal...

    :think

see I wonder if 65/35 if enough to make pacquiao commit. Not claiming to know much about what pacquiao was getting with top rank money wise but I'm thinking 35% of what he would make vs floyd is more than anything he's made with top rank

IMO I'd like to know what floyd got vs ODLH. I think that would probably be a pretty fair fight to base a floyd pac negotiation off of seeing how Floyd is now in DLHs positino and pac is kind of in floyds.

Because Manny is gonna sign an extension of his current contract with Top Rank, i.e. Bob Arum who doesn't want to do the fight between Pac and May but no has picked up on this yet, and it'll be a contract which will go until the very end of 2016! In which Floyd will definitely be retired for good by then, unless he wins all three of his next and remaining fights on his current PPV contract with Showtime and is offered millions more on top of the current quarter of a billion dollar deal to hang around.

Anything from 70-30 to 60-40 with ppv upside for Pac.
