HBO has a far more stable business model for longevity in boxing. They have set the standard for decades. You cannot simply throw money at a problem and hope it goes away or magically self corrects like Showtime.
After 3 fights, they will be at approximately 4 million buys, maybe more depending on Maidana numbers. That's averaging approximately 1.33 million PPV sales per fight. (The 6 fights prior to his Showtime contract, Mayweather had averaged 1.4 million PPV buys) OP is an idiot. It's a 6 fight contract. The "average" actually matters for the bottom line. If they average 1.3 million sales per fight for the entire 6 fight contract, I don't think Showtime will be complaining.
