RING rate Geale behind only Martinez, Golovkin and Sturm at 160, and Geale has already beaten Sturm. So Geale is top 3 or 4 no doubt.
MidniteProwler is a Mundine fan who still hasn't gotten over the fact that Geale easily beat Mundine.
Geale is no way top 3 or 4. Sturm, Sergio, GGG are all far superior to him for starters. Then you have the likes of Quillin, Jacobs, HNN, Macklin, Murray etc etc all of whom are at least as good as Geale. Geale scrapes into top 10, maybe somewhere 5-10.
Haters got to hate I guess? Or perhaps you'd like to try and justify how you would put Geale below the likes of Quillin, Jacobs, HNN, Macklin, Murray? I put RING's ratings ahead of yours. As does everybody else.
Lol.. Anyone who puts any credibility in the Ring's rankings obviously doesn't know **** about boxing. Have a seat in the corner and shut your pie hole, noob. Maybe you'd learn something...
Tell me oh self-proclaimed -wise -one what vested interest Golden Boy have in rating Daniel Geale any higher than he deserves to be rated? While you are at it where do you rate Geale at 160?? Your move....
I rate Geale way above Quillin, Jacobs and HNN. I think Johnson, who got stopped British Style against Stevens likely beats all three. Geale beat Sturm fairly recently, not sure how Sturm is suddenly far superior. Murray has looked terrible in his tune-ups, somethings up with him. Right now Geale would beat him, GGP SA has been investing in his training and in redevelopment fights though so he might get back in form. Look for Murray to face GGG later in the year barring miracle breakthough where GGG gets Martinez. (Murray new promoter GGP SA has close working relationship with K2, and puts together the venue and card for GGG MC bouts) If GGG's remaining schedule for the year is Geale and Murray, which it looks to be then that is two very respectable title defenses.
I'll jump here and just say this: Geale lost back in August to Darren Barker, who is not even ranked right now, and on his next fight Barker got KO'd by Sturm in the 2nd round. Geale is just a B- fighter...not a bum, but nothing special. No way he should be ranked #4...
Barker broke his hip while fighting Sturm, which had little to do with his or Sturm's ability. But I will give you, Geale looked lost against Barker. But then again he looked good against Sturm, Sylvester, Mundine, and Adama. He's a legit top 10 MW, but style wise he just doesn't look like he'll offer anything against Golovkin. Even if the Geale who beat Sturm shows up and not the one who lost to Barker, he's in trouble and he moves forward and Golovkin punches through his feints.
I honestly wonder if Murray beats Bursak. Max can be pretty capable, better than he showed against Fletcher. While Murray has looked poor lately and has yet to record a win over a top 30 MW. I know GGP has Martin schedule against Bursak in July and again in November and again in March (supposedly all in MC). I'd imagine if he stays unbeaten and turns down a Sturm fight, he might get GGG in March. Then again Golovkin will have better options for his Euro-fight such as Kessler.
Geale lost narrowly and on a split decision to the 25-1 Darren Barker. One of only two losses on his 30-2 record. How quickly people forget though that Geale unified the WBA & IBF titles - winning the titles in separate title fights in Germany. Geale also has a win over Sturm to his credit, and number #4 is a fair and reasonable assessment of where he is at.
