GGG can fight Fletcher on the undcard of GGG-Geale. I'd watch that show. #Boxing

    :lol::lol:

Looks like K2 is about as interested in Fletcher as the fans are. For now I'm going to assume something will get worked out.

Im not buying it. They never said anything when the Chavez fight was being talked about now they want to do this. GGG will say let me get an optional defense or he literally might give it up.

You think Geale might lose interest in a fight with Golovkin if that WBA belt isn't there? Especially if he can fight fellow Aussie Fletcher at home for the vacant title.

Thats the question.... plus, 30 days to make fight? I thought it was usually 90. Purse bid in June? Its like the WBA is trying very very hard to get Fletcher in for July date and stall GGG's career again. (not by beating him, by making it even longer until he has a significant fight)

I went and googled up news on it, and Fletcher's facebook came up. They had posted prior to announcement that big news was coming, then posted again looking forward to fight. So it seems like they really want it. Maybe they dont take step aside money.

As much as I like watching GGG fight, I honestly hope that if Team GGG decides to hang onto belt and feels compelled to cave, that HBO does not buy the fight. GGG-Fletcher is not a HBO WCB caliber fight. Fletcher is an ESPN3/NBCS undercard type of guy. He should be getting KO1'ed by Johnson or Stevens on a NBC Sports undercard not headlining on HBO WCB.

Fletcher already got smoked in 2 rounds by Billy Joe Saunders less than 2 years ago. I'd rather see GGG fight Saunders.

Geale wont lose intrest. he knows that GGG is ranked #1 at MW and this is his chance. and most likely winner will fight winner of Cotto-Martinez so this is what hes been waiting for

You have been blindly led by the nose by the anti-Geale troll :patsch

    More the fool you

Fact is Geale is 30-2. Has won multiple world titles and never been stopped.

The middle weight division isn't as great as people like to claim from my perspective.

An old Martinez that's about it, nobody else really stands out or has done for a long time I cant get pumped because after Martinez who really is there for GGG to fight ?.

It's harsh but when the likes of (sponsored by rainham steel) the Darren Barkers macklins murrays of this world are in the mix you know a division is weak.I mean there was a long stretch there where it was just paul williams pavlik martinez and people were claiming how deep the middleweight division was then too when I cant see why.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a concerted effort to stall GGG's career? Does Haymon/Showtime have "friends" at the WBA? This is odd that the WBA rushes in an undeserving Fletcher all of a sudden. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but eventually things stop being chalked up to coincidence. We'll see.

Judging by Loeffler's and Sanchez's reactions, it sounds like the mandatory status was a surprise. Wouldn't doubt Fletcher's promoter paid the WBA extra money to expedite the mando with the open HBO date. I hope they low ball his *ss for it.

Way I see K2 should either take this fight in addition to a legit opponent or fight Quillin in a unification fight to bypass the mando. I love the idea some have floated around that Golovkin fight Fletcher on the undercard and Geale in the main event. That would generate main stream interest and get lots of hype when Golovkin would end up KO'ing two ranked fighters in the same night. The Aussie ppv's would get a kick too.

Too bad most athletic commissions won't allow it. NYSAC alone requires two weeks between fights (or month?).

It's my hope that with Fletcher being forced on Golovkin, HBO will panic/buckle and allow Golovkin-Quillin to happen!
