:good i'm surprised this isn't mentioned more often, especially with serial paper belt holders who get b-grade 'defences', but never get aligned with the big boys of the division
Even though I'm hoping HBO will relent and allow Golovkin-Quillin to happen rather than be forced to show Fletcher, another idea is to add Golovkin-Fletcher onto the Provodnikov card in June at Barclays Center, then return a month later as a main event at MSG with Geale.
He has 30 days to reach an agreement with Fletcher but how long to fight him 90 days after that, 120 total? That's mid Sept couldn't he still fight Geale as planned then this other corrupt bribing tomoato can two months later.
Seriously they should let Golovkin fight both Geale & Fletcher on the same night, he will KO them both easily, It would be great entertainment.
Fletcher says he's not stepping aside, he and his promoters want what they think will be a half mill pay day. I swear a Golovkin-Geale fight is cursed to never happen. One crazy thing after another. What a let down this could be to go from Chavez, then to Geale, all the way down to Fletcher. It would mean every opponent since Macklin has be a consistent step down from the last.
there's only one big boy at the top at MW, and he's been broken down by injury nothing about Martinez should tell you he's a paper champion
Golovkin should get a fight with Quillin, Geale, Sturm, Martinez, etc., and as long as Void holds the 154 lbs. belt, Golovkin should get the chance to knock Void out, which he would. Void would never get into a ring with Golovkin.........
I don't care about the circumstances, if GGG fights Fletcher I'm not a fan anymore. Ward, Gamboa, Dirrell...... it seems like when I'm a fan of a guy they decide to stop fighting, or in GGG's case he may as well stop fighting.
Hard to understand how Fletcher managed to work his way under the radar into the mandatory slot. Boxing needs the best matchups it can muster or it will continue to slip out of interest of the average sports fan.
