I like when Morgan Freeman's character smacks the **** out of the gym bully.

Raging Bull and The Fighter were both great films. I hope they make The Fighter II, because they still have all the Ward vs Gatti stuff to work with. The Cinderella Man was very good too.

Of course the original Rocky was brilliant at the time too. Created a whole new interest in the sport and delivered many new fans who probably still follow it today due to the Rocky films.

Rocky 1 is by far the best. There's a reason why Stallone won an Oscar for that and its probably inspired so many to take up or follow boxing.

Too many good movies out there but Rocky 1 is a movie I always remember and watch again from time to time. Definitely Rocky 1 for me.

Stallone didn't win an Oscar for that, the director John Avildsen did.

Ali, The Fighter, Cindarella Man, Raging Bull, Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky Balboa

    Those are my top.

I saw a really old one based on Joe Louis I really liked but can't remember the name.

I like those movies but cringe everytime they show the fights. I do understand the technology sucked back in 80-90s, but lately the fights are no better - fighters still don't show any signs of D, they do make loopy shots, footwork is NEVER shown - only the upper body movement. Argh!!!
I just hope the next good budget movie will be more realistic. I mean look at Raid movie (very low budget) but the scenes are incredible. I am sure something can be produced but so far choreography sucks big time.

"Play it to the bone" with woody Harrelson and Antonio Banderas is pretty good. I have not seen it in like ten years though.
