This is why I like looking at the consensus of press row, because most of them have scored fights for years.

But, it is interesting that many had Maidana close, at least on this site. It doesn't seem like it was a whitewash for Mayweather. It was close.

I may have been close but there was only one definite winner and that was Mayweather. If Maidana had got the nod that night it would have been a bigger robbery than Pac-Bradley 1.

Pac won 8-10 rounds in that fight and was dominated each way possible.

Maidana threw twice as many shots as Mayweather and landed only a couple less.

In short, that is a bad comparison. Not saying if Maidana won there would not be controversy, because there would be, but not compared to the Pac-Bradley I sham.

 

Grrr!. You seriously use the term 'casual' and score the fight for Maidana?? You must be blind. I hate the fact that Maidana's camp and fans have generated enough noise for the fight to considered a robbery.

It's pointless doing a round by round comparison, but Maidana landed very few SCORING punches! swinging with one's head down and hoping to land something while actually hitting glove, arm, back is not round winning boxing. It's crude, ugly and against Mayweather it was ineffective.

On fight night I had it 7-5 Mayweather
When I rewatched I had it 8-4 Mayweather

 

Clean punching won him the fight. Just IMO.
