Word around the camp fire is Froch is getting approx £8 mill for the Groves rematch. That sounds real high.

Does anybody know roughly what the sum will be before the PPV's?

Don't know, I posted a thread about this before. £8m is projected figure, Froch is smart he does not take a fee of Hearn but a profit share of his bill, so though its projected £8m it could realistically end up £5m or 10-12m depending on ppv sales

Realistically, what would Groves and Hearn walk away with?

Groves gets a fix fee based on projections, which is 15% of Froch projected £8m so about £1.2m for him. Froch offered him 25% then GG went to IBF to make him get mandatory position, and under there rules any mandatory rated 3 or below gets 15% of purse, so he cost himself about 800k by knocking back Carls 25% offer and going down IBF appeal route. GG thinks he is great promoting himself, but that wouldn't have happened if he had Adam Booth or a proper promoter in his corner.

by going the ibf appeal route groves was guaranteed the fight, at the time there was talk of froch looking elsewhere, groves could also take the fight with no future options on him from matchroom - swings and roundabouts

and the fight was made outside of purse bids so any sort of deal could have been negotiated. 15% would have only been the maxium figure if it went to purse bids

either way sky matchroom froch and groves are all making a chunk

how many ppv sales we expecting 500k+ on top of 70k tickets??

If true, then Foster's controversial stoppage is the best thing that ever happened to Froch. He won a fight he was all but certain to pull out of the fire and he gets a huge payday in the rematch.

He should send Foster some flowers and a big cheque.

No that all appears correct. A journalist in the Guardian paper is inside Froch camp, spends a lot of time with him says Carl told him about £8m, and Eddie Hearn has said on record George was offered 25% but then after IBF ruling it stated he was only due 15% so George has cost himself lots of money.

In my opinion these top lads rank alongside any other global sport and should receive the same rewards as top footballers golfers etcI hope whatever Carls has earned over his career matches your Rooneys etc.

An excellent retirement fund and a much deserved payday at the end of a great career. Will certainly soften the blow when he loses to Groves

If booth was in his corner he would get even less cash

Carl is earning nearly as much from this fight as whole career combined, imaging Groves will be in same boat. And yes Froch deserves, terrific warrior and servant to our sport

I hope they both earn a bundle. Sadly the taxman will be the biggest winner.
