    Which of the heavyweight champions was the most precise and accurate puncher?
    My vote goes to Joe Louis.

    Tyson's finish of Pinklon Thomas has always impressed me ,for two reasons,the speed and accuracy of his shots,and the amount of punches Thomas took before succumbing.

    Louis springs to mind, but you have to wonder if Bob Fitzsimmons might be in the argument.

    As with others here the brown bomber stands out, he just didn't waste or miss many shots.

    Ingo deserves a mention! The only reason he got to be Champion was because of his perfectly timed ( all time great) right hand.

    Great point. As a ridiculously successful trap setter KO artist, it would seem Fitz would have to have been very accurate.

    Micheal Moorer had under rated accuracy and punch placing. But I would pick Louis.

    Agree that Louis would be an obvious choice, but should Tunney get some mention here?

    I've never really studied boxers that far back and could be wrong, but I thought he had a reputation for making punches count.
