His "volume punching" was/is nothing more than pitter-patter arm punches that have nothing on them and serve more as a defense than anything, because he had next to zero defensive ability. His iron chin is a myth also, he never faced a real HW puncher in his career, the closest was probably fat-unmotivated O.Solis who was well on his way to KTFO'ing Welliver before the ref saved him and stopped the onslaught.

I know very well how he chased fights, I remember him on OTR when Arreola came in and he virtually begged for a fight. Problem was, he brought nothing to the table to make any kind of deals, no money, no promotional ability....nothing but useless trinkets, so credible contender was going to bother with him to earn nothing.

Too bad he blew his Chinese backer that was trying to make things happen for him, but I guess trying to cherry-pick senior citizens and novices was a bad move in hindsight :rofl

Wilder should step up and fight the winner.

    Chitsaz has backed out.

He made the event, Welliver on his way, and Chitsaz gets on a jet back to LA.

Promoter looking for anyone willing to make the fight.:rofl

Wilder could get his biggest win.:lol::lol:

Scott is Wilders biggest win. Whether it was fixed or not it
Is still his biggest win. Wilder fighting and decapitating Welliver won't change that.

Welliver ought to go pick on the Z level league like he normally does and go find an 0-2 guy.

Look, Welliver may not be a world level HW, but he's got some solid wins over journeyman, Clevel fighters.

Guys like 46 yo Cooper, Saul Farrah, Mensah, Browne, Calloway.....those guys are not cabbies....they're well travelled journeyman with some quality wins of their own.

Yes, Scott is Wilders best win, and I was being sarcastisc suggesting he hop a flight to Montana, but at least Welliver was looking for those big fights, and took on undefeated Solis, took on Tank Williams.....guys that Wilder would not have dared fight.

In the battle of the plebs, no one wins. Everyone loses, even the spectators

Umm no, they are Z-level competition, not C, the bottom of the barrel...where Welliver feasts. Beating 46 yr olds with 38-23 records after being a "pro" for over 12 years is an utter disgrace. This is a man that had to regain confidence after getting his ass kicked by Solis, by going out and dragging 2 arm wrestlers off the street who had never boxed, just to get back on a winning streak. Stuff like this even makes me question how "nice" of a guy he is.....though he comes off as one.

Please spare us with the "he's got solid wins over journeymen" nonsense, Chauncy has NEVER beat anyone ranked in the top 100.

doubt he actually chases decent fights either. he'd look good on some young prospects ledger, if he'd actually fight one.
