i hope alvarado gets another payday after this fight. he has tried this fight, marquez has just been too sharp for him

 

People always get that 9-9 messed up. I don't see what is so hard about it. One fighter has to have at least 10 points....and then you can deduct points for fouls. But there is no 9-9, 9-8 without a point deducted for fouls.

It's pretty straight forward but even long time boxing fans seem to often get it mixed up.

There is no winning the rest of the rnd. A knock down trumps what was done in the rnd. A guy can be winning the entire rnd but gets his has planted on the canvas with 10 seconds left it makes it a 10 - 8 rnd. Same goes for a knock down that happens early.
