What is the reason for the beef? Martinez seems like he is trying too hard to make this a personality clash when Cotto is like "so f*cking what? Deal with it"
Cotto is the bigger star, having fought at MSG 9 times, PPV star, sell out arenas whereas Martinez hasn't looked all that stellar in the last few years. Cotto is rightly the A side. If it was in Argentina, it would be the other way around. Sergio is over valuing himself.
Good stuff, I feel Kellerman didn't want to answer Martinez to remain "neutral". Everyone knows where Kellerman would put his money, and if he said Martniez, it would feel like he's agreeing with Martinez.
This is true but it doesnt give him the right to change boxing customs that champions walks out last and **** like that thats diva **** right there.:yep but i hope Cotto will feel better that he walked out 2nd once he is stopped.
I thought it was a good face off. I also thought Martinez was purposely playing up his supposed dislike for Cotto for the cameras. He contradicted himself numerous times and kept acting like he didn't know the difference between a B level fighter and the B side of a promotion.
I hope Martinez is at least 80% recovered for this fight. If he KTFO Cotto , PBF will duck even more Sergio !
Not sure how you duck a fighter that isn't in your weightclass. Back to the point of the thread, cant wait for this fight and will be there
I've met Cotto a couple of times, and Martinez is currently training in my gym. The one thing that has really stood out to me is the size differential. I am decently taller than Miguel, and was surprised to find myself shorter than Sergio. He is listed at 5'10", but is more like 6', while Cotto is definitely 5'7". I think, come fight night, that size difference will become one hell of a factor.
