Yes. It's very obvious he doesn't like them, he's not very good at hiding it. You can even hear it in the tone of his voice when he talks about them.

    He's a complete buffoon.

Sergio, who is a fighter not a professional commentator, in 2 seconds made him look like a complete idiot in his faceoff.

He asks boring paragraph-long questions to fighters after a fight. When he comes out of a question, no one even remembers where he came into it.

HBO must have him on the fights because they think he pulls in a young white guy demographic, certainly not for his cringeworthy commentating and non-existent "boxing knowledge".

Compared to the crap that's on ESPN nowadays, I think Around the Horn with Kellerman was actually good in comparison. ESPN is awful these days, especially when it comes to their talk shows. I agree though that Kellerman was never a boxer and sometimes is annoying. On a side note, was Jim Lampley ever a boxer?

I don't see 90% of the things u guys do. Regardless if he boxed, he does a good job. Student of history, student of the game, etc. Did nepotism help? Maybe, but based just on his work, I think hes good.

I think you would make a good replacement for him Rico. There is nowhere near enough glass chin talk on HBO and when feather fisted Postol KO'd Aydin- that when your expertise would come in handy :deal

I am a klitschko fan, an Max hates him as he seems to do most euro's, BUT I still like hearing the guy, he you can tell he knows sports inside an out, an when he thinks something he doesn't back peddle as which can be common for commenters, I mean 8 years of being the King of the Heavyweight division, losing no more then 10 rounds in that period, he still likes to talk **** about wlad. But, I respect that, he sees something he doesn't like, an he is sticking to it...

    .....
ESPN did not match fox offer for Kellerman, who I thought was great on espn2, I still believe it is not as good as was when he was there. So max went there, an few years later he got to hbo. Around the horn is gay, but faceoff is not. I would love to see Max get a boxing recap show on sunday night on espn, maybe a half hour to a hour long, go across the board from what HBO, showtime, Europe an America have to offer, just in your face boxing info. hell all they have is replays of **** on sunday night on espn anyways, I think a show like this would be great. Just don't make it about mayweather an pacman. mix in fighter we will never see in the states. Max would be great for a show like this....

But yes he does become fan boy, I mean the two greatest things about RJJ losing to tarver by KO, was RJJ losing, an watching one of his biggest fan boy broken heart response afterwards, that would be Kellerman. I mean he is all over GGG, I can't wait for that bubble to burst...:bbb

Kellerman's a buffoon. I remember him licking Judahs butt like he was the next ATG, then whining incredulously when Tzyu kicked Judahs a$$.

He's a poor evaluator of talent, and very biased towards EE fighters.

    Hershman will never fire Kellerman....

Merchant didn't have a glass chin though. If he was 50 years younger he would've kicked Floyd ass!:patsch:deal

Max is OK. A lot better than Merchant and Lederman.

Kellerman is terrible, as is the rest of the HBO team. Lampley used to have passion for the sport, he sounds tired and jaded now. Kellerman is incredibly biased and asks stupid questions.

Firstly, I don't think you have to be a boxer to know a decent amount about boxing. Sometimes ex-boxers say stupid stuff when commentating too.

What I don't like about him and the HBO crew at times is how they sensationalize, and try to sound wordy etc. Kellerman comes across as a little smug or unlikable at times but that might be doing him a disservice.

But he and the rest of the HBO team are part of what makes a good fight night what it is, the tradition or presentation or something about it. Boxnation is great but watch Steve Bunce and you will probably think Kellerman is fantastic.

Max Kellerman is just a privileged rich man's son. He has no boxing background and did nothing to deserve his media positions.

HBO should replace him with some knowledgeable trainer like Nazim Richardson or Robert Garcia.
