The more and more I think about it, the more I realize that Cotto is probably the best fighter Sergio has faced. Sergio has had mostly guys who are bigger than him in front of his face. Walking to him, and allowing him to counter effectively and play the role of the smaller man. Against Junito, whoever, he'll be going up against a new level of skill, especially depending on how much Cotto has left in the tank. Sergio is no Mayweather, and if Cotto can expose his age, Maravilla will be in for a long night. I cant think of a fighter Sergio has faced that has more skill than Cotto. Cotto has been in with TWO ATG's, both who I'm sure he's learned from. Maravilla can't say the same.

Remember to bump this after the fight. Im not saying Maravilla is going to lose, but it wouldn't surprise me if Cotto does better than people expect. He's not shot, and I think he has a lot left in the tank and can expose Sergio's ailments. Im picking Cotto

Williams, Pavlik and Chavez Jr is still a impressive resume! I still look at how Trout was able to dominate Cotto and Sergio is Levels above him.

Very true, but I think Cotto brings a different element to the fight.

Trout didnt dominate Cotto. I went to that fight. he won, but he wasnt dominated. Im gonna give Cotto the benefit of a change of scenery and say that Roach is making him fight to his strengths. I still think that Cotto is going to do better than most think

Kneegel Cutto fought against a pillow-fisted Mayweather who couldn't gain respect for his power. Sergio has a killer jab, and will cut his face up to pieces and leave Cutto on his knee just like we see time and time again.

Don't believe the hype, this is an easy win for Martinez..

Whats Cotto gonna do, outbox him? I don't think so, Martinez is faster, a southpaw & has serious power.
If Pavlik or Chavez Jr couldn't walk Sergio down how's midget Cotto gonna do it?

    Williams was a tougher opponent.

That just makes his gut more vulnerable (Kragz) and we seen how Trout was hurting that body.

Maravilla is a step up for Cotto.

Not in a "he has never fought at that level before" way, but he's the strongest fighter he ever faced. Size does matter, no matter what people say.

Looking thru the lens of fights such as Margo- Cotto I, Pac- Cotto, Trout vs Cotto and Mayweather vs Cotto, That step-up for Martinez can only mean that he's gonna witness the Prima Donna in all luxury entering last like a champ with all his P-Ricans screaming like mad that is until the finish in the 9th round.

Williams is better than Cotto, it's not a step up at all in fact may well be a step below what he has beaten before Cotto has never fought at 160 and was beaten at 154 by Trout in no way is this a step up GGG would be a step up not Cotto

Guys that Martinez fought that would handle Cotto:
    Dzinziruk
    Pavlik
    Chavez Jr.
    Paul Williams
    Antonio Margarito

Now remember I am comparing the version Martinez fought, to the current Cotto

Cotto will be his most talented, but Miguel is too small. He looked too small with Margarito, Trout and at times with Yuri Foreman. Mayorga even had his moments with Miguel. Great fighter, belongs at 147 though.
