He truly is awful. In general the broadcasting staffs in boxing are a mixed bunch quality wise, but he stands out as the absolute worst.
kellerman is just boring and says nothing entertaining. roy jones is boring as well, but roy is just there to break down what's going on in the ring.
The guy they need for a color commentator is Randall Tex Cobb. Many years ago when we were on the old prodigy boxing site We were all going to watch the PPV fight Well my cable went out & I told them on the site I wouldnt be able to watch. At the time Tex's wife was on the prodigy & saw this At 8.00 that evening my phone rang & I was told I'd won a free color commentary of the fights. I knew it was Tex & his wife when I heard him laugh like a seal in heat lol He gave me a color commentary on four fights he was great best Ive heard I'll never forget them doing that for me
Take note of the above everyone. Not speculation. Not opinion. Not conjuncture. Just 100% cold hard facts.
Think hes perfectly ok. Knows his boxing, he isnt there for technical boxing analysis. Thats what RJJ is for.
Larry Merchant was annoying at times and got too old for the job of commentating and interviewing fighters. But Max Kellerman is a bug-eyed incompetent freak who got his job because his daddy is rich and connected. I feel so sorry for Roy Jones having to work with this unqualified clown.
HBO crew are by far the best. Boxers are notoriously **** at articulating themselves which is why they take punches for a living and not talk about it. Paulie is an exception, but Lewis, Foreman, Jones and espeically Steward were ****ing awful. Merchant had the best style, though he has significantly slowed down and he should hang them up. Being honest about the situation has somehow been skewed by today's yoloswag culture as "hatin'".
LOL. None of the professional commentators like Merchant, Berstein or Sugarman have ever boxed. You can't fire them. If you do they get a golden termination package and just get a job at another station via the Zionist network Employment office.
