    Really?

I don't remember him fighting Mayweather, Hatton or Tszyu at 140.

cotto went to war with margarito and clearly outboxed the bigger man in the rematch. martinez was stopped by him early.

how those guys did against martinez has no bearing on how cotto/martinez will match up. styles make fights.

Cotto is more decorated and accomplished than Pavlik, ask around. He is p4p a better fighter than Pavlik, he has a better resume than Pavlik and he has won 4 world titles in 3 different weight divisions.
Cotto may not have been the Lineal Champ but he may well have been the best at 140 at one point. In his best division, 147, he had much tougher competition for the #1 spot. Beating Jermaine Taylor is a lot easier than beating Pacquiao or Mayweather.

What cracks me up the most is Clottey got hit with more punches against Margarito and didn't cry about Margarito having loaded gloves.

Cotto went to war with Margarito, really? When was this?

He outboxed Marg for the first 6 rounds in the first fight before getting the living **** beaten out of him, he waited until Pac broke Margs face before going for the rematch & still insisted on a weird catchweight of 153, he then got laughed at by Marg in the HBO head2head & Marg basically made him his *****, in the rematch itself he ran & aimed jabs at Margs ****ed up eye while Marg walked him down taunting him to fight like a man, in the end the ref stopped it on a bull**** call the first chance he got..
& the worst thing is Cotto gets up & celebrates as if he just got one of the best KO's of all time, seriously him shouting & acting like he'd restored his 'pride' after getting smashed to peices by running and pecking at an already injured eye was actually very embarassing.

Martinez looked terrible in his last fight against Martin Murray, and Murray is not that good.

Sergio doesn't have much left in the tank. His body can't take it any more. He is going to turn into a pensioner in the ring.

cotto is the one who damaged margacheatos eye to begin with. his eye and his back was fcuked after the fight with cotto. it's sad that you hold a known cheater in such high regard. smh. to each his own i guess. well...anyway....even though cotto loss to him the first time, the cheater had to walk through a **** storm to get that win. he was definitely softened up for shane mosley who thoroughly beat the dog **** out of that piece of **** cheater. where's the cheater now? retired. what did he accomplish in his career??? nothing. fcuk him and his fans.

You keep spewing this crap but you haven't explained HOW.

Exactly WHO did Cotto beat that he should be considered "more decorated and accomplished" than Kelly Pavlik?

    We're listening...

Did it look like I was joking?

Look at Cotto's resume at 140. HE BEAT NOBODY AT THE WEIGHT...

    LOL.

Cotto has *never* beaten the #1 guy in ANY divsion that he's competed in. His best win to date is UD 12 over Mosley - a fight that I thought Shane should have got the nod in. Sorry, Genius, but winning a beauty contest over a past it Shane Mosley does not make Cotto's resume better than Pavlik's. Like I said, Kelly's KO win over Taylor trumps ANYTHING on Cotto's resume. It aint even close.

Those were ALL *PAPER TITLES*, Genius. You do know what a PAPER TITLE is, right? Cotto never beat a LINEAL title holder for any of those alphabet trinkets.

I see it's obvious that YDKSAB...

    1. I think you over rate Taylor, he really wasn't much better than Mosley or Judah imo.

    2. Having one trump win doesn't mean you have an overall better resume. There is a thread on here about Calzaghe's win over Hopkins trumping any win on Mayweather's resume which illustrates that point.

A title is still a title, a fighter makes the title, not the other way around. I think you're placing too much emphasis on the lineal aspect, half the time these lineal titles are won by beating an old or shot fighter and does not necessarily mean the holder is the best in the division.
Cotto was still rated by many as the best at 140, I think most people would have picked him to beat Hatton.
I think at one point Cotto was rated #2 at 147 behind Floyd, the only reason he wasn't ranked #1 is because his division contained the best p4p boxer in the world.

I don't think beating a good but not great fighter for the lineal title in 1 weak division is necessarily more impressive or a greater accomplishment than winning 4 world titles in 3 division.
Another thing that should be taken into consideration is the fact that Cotto put in good performances against the 2 top p4p fighters on the planet.

If you are really so convinced that Pavlik is better, has a better resume, will be rated higher p4p on any all time list or is more decorated or accomplished than Cotto them maybe you're the one who dksab.
