well when you consider that Hagler was washed up that leave tree. when you consider that Duran was a blown up lightweigh jumped two divisions and just dropped 40 pounds. that leaves two. when you consider that Benitez was somewhat overblown as an opponent just becuz he was bea by Ray, that leaves oe. and when you consider that Hearns was a fledgling champion owning half the title, what does that really leave you?

it's still impressive luden, so long as you dont look at the fine print and buy into all the hype

Mayweather has exceptonal skill no question but it isn`t as if Leonard didn`t bring a great skillset to the table himself. Floyd wouldnt have the same edge in skills that he usually enjoys over the crop of challengers that he had faced. Couple that with Leonard`s blazing handspeed and FM would find himself getting hit more than he ever did in his entire career.

Floyd would not be able to potshot have the same time and room he normally would. Ray would be applying pressure for 3 minutes a round and he can punch. RL had height, speed, power and a rock solid chin.

When you add it all up Leonard should be favored at `47. P4P I would give Mayweather a much better shot.

How would you describe most of Norris's opponents? Were Leonard, Curry, or Mugabi Prime? Were Leonard, Curry, Brown, or Taylor naturals to Jr. middleweight? Can't really have your cake and eat it too can you?

This is an issue for you and your new online BFF to discuss, Elton.

Even so, that particular post was for Poxy, not you. I made two responses to you that you've seemingly ducked for some reason. :-(

Duran, Hearns and Benitez were leagues better than Terry Norris. About the only advantage Terry would have is that of being the naturally bigger guy.. But FASTER or more skilled than a prime Leonard? That's just laughable.

Well I agree that Tarver wouldnt have beat Roy in his prime. As for Norris, Terry just has the style to beat him and would have Ray's number every time. I know your heart felt response is "BULL****!" but like they say, there is always someone out there who is better than you and that someone is Terry Norris and as YOU have said "styles make fights"

It's just not enough to say "Ray slowed down!" How is that proof he could ever win Terry? HOw do you extrapolate a win for Ray when it took him nine rds to stop a punching bag like Kalule, no speed, no punch, no footwork

how does an 11 round stoppage of Larry Bonds tranlsate into a mirculous win over Norris?

how does losing round after round to Hearns translate into a win over Norris?

If he couldnt handle movement then, he couldnt handle movement NOW. like I said, ray Leonard was only a runner

I could start a threat asking how many thought Ray was going to polish off Norris and all of them, if they are honest, would pick Ray. so what good does that poll do?

Terry proved that you really dont need a a mammoth reach to reach Ray. Kevin Howard proved it. Marcos geraldo proved it. Fireball Rodriquez proved it and Hector Camacho certainly proved it

and Floyd even tho the smaller man, would certianly reduce Sugar from sweet, to ordinary

Ok, but in the interest of level playing fields, you are talking 25 year old Leonard in his prime. Mayweather didn't even have his first Welter fight until he was 28. At 25 he was still a Lightweight.

So again in fairness you have to go from April 2006, when he was 29, until May 2010, when he was 33.

Now at 34 Leonards ATHLETICISM had deserted him, and his lack of basic fundamentals allowed for him to take that beating from Norris.

I honestly can't see Mayweather EVER taking that kind of beating with his good grounding.

As I said before Leonard was very good when he could control the pace and distance of a fight, I don't see that happening with a fighter as clever as Mayweather.
