The Mararito fight happened back in 2000 though, not much relevance current Martinez is it?

I think you've got a thing for Sergio, Mr. Sensitive. I wasn't trying to be original when I stated the obvious, it is what it is. I was commenting on the way Sergio acted during the interview but my opinion is based on watching both fighters over a long period of time. I like Sergio ok, but I was disappointed to see him act like such a drama queen during the interview. I think the attitude was an act and his injuries are going to cause him to lose the fight. It's an opinion, not an attempt to impress brilliant minds like your own.

Guys, you're forgetting an important aspect of this whole match up.....Freddie Roach. I may get hate for that, but you gotta admit, he makes beasts out of the guys he trains.

Sergio fought Julio from the 4th round of their fight with a broken left hand, then got cut from a clash of heads over his left temple which certainly would affect most peoples equilibrium. Then Julio hit him with a knuckle punch right on the cut with everything he had, that punch would have KO'd most fighters yet Sergio got back up from it.

Julio is around 6'1 with the same reach as Sergio, outweighed him 20 pounds. Julio has the same stats as Kovalev with less punching power, yet he couldn't Knock Sergio out, Yet Cotto who is barely 5'7 with a 67 reach who fight in a similar style to Julio, who was dominated for 11 1/2 rds is going to beat or KO Sergio.

I like Freddie a lot but trainers can only do so much, I like Cotto as well but he'll be on his bicycle the moment he feels the first counter left of Martinez.

Cotto is gonna get wrecked. Sergio is faster, stronger, quicker combo puncher, better chin, longer reach, southpaw:lol:

Of course there is...didn't you see the last part of the Chavez Jr. fight?

He still has no answer to pressure coupled with body shots.

Cotto will exploit him in a bad way...I do not think Martinez has a better chin than Mayorga!!!

I'm Sergio's height a little heavier however when I've stood next to Cotto he doesn't appear much smaller.

He is a tough cookie and I really think Sergio is in for a helluva surprise.

Sergio is assuming a win based on his weight difference.

My $ is on Cotto !!!

If Martinez cant move because of his injuries then its really no question that Cotto will hammer him. Cotto isnt a walking punching bag like Chavez.
If he can move like he did in the past then its a problem for Cotto, and he will not win.

You must be a ********ual. ********uals always puts the limited Cotto on a pedestial for the simple fact that he busted Floyd's brittle nose.

But who has Cotto ever beat? You are really saying that you think Cotto is stronger than the light heavyweight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.??

    Really?

You really mean that you see Cotto winning against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.??

No, of course. You are just overhyping Cotto because he bloodied brittle Floyd.

Maidana will be overhyped the same way in his next fights, while in reality Devon Alexander, and Amir mother****in Khan dominated and beated Maidina easily, while Floyd was helpless and could only watch the referee with puppy eyes before losing to a sloppy brawler.

When Martin Murray of all fighters turns up in Argentina and gets robbed of a win, you can pretty much bet your house on Cotto being able to do the job.

Robbery gets thrown around a little too much on this site.
Murray did nothing for 5 rounds and was hurt and lost the last 2.
The 2 he knocked Sergio down in he won, the the other 3 were close.
At best its a draw how is that a robbery.

Sergio outpoints Murray while badly injured with no KO he's washed up.
Pacquiao outpoints Rios and Bradley no KO he's washed up.
Yet that is all Floyd ever does but he's the GOAT, little bit of a double standard isn't it?

Ok, how about, if Sergio could only manage a draw in Argentina, against a B level (which he is by the way) fighter, then how is he going to handle Cotto??

Martinez will beat Cotto into submission.
