I agree many jump on the bandwagon too early and get ahead of themselves.

Still Toney didnt do as well at LHW and some fighters just dont perform at certain weights, so I would pick Kovalev

Toney would kill kovalev on the inside and win going away. I mean who has kovalev beaten to say he s in toneys class?

Figures your traitor ass would pick against another American fighter. Even when Toney is clearly more proven and better. Yeah kovalev would be too much great insight. Toney would smother kovalevs power and eat his lunch on the inside making him miss and dishing out punishment.

Depends on what Toney shows up if its the lazy version who thinks hes going to win just by showing up he gets outworked and loses, if its an in shape motivated Toney he schools Kovalev.

Actually, Toney wants to fight Chambers next on the Chisora-Fury undercard.

Good fight for Chambers but I guess James still has enough left to beat him

Interesting. Who did Toney beat as good as Cleverly at LHW?
    Watch Imperial duck the question

Except Kovalev is lanky and shredded.

Toney is grade A iron.....KOvalev aint KOing him, but his sitting back and lokoing to counter off the gloves aint happening either.

I really like KOvalev, but I think Toney catches him with a huge CRH, and drop him, then swarms and gets the stoppage.:think

Toney is not small and he was a gifted boxer. He would've beaten the brakes out of Kovalev in my humble opinion. My reasons is that Kovalev doesn't have too much experience against defensive master/boxers and he doesn't have experience in long fights. He did good against Campillo who is very good boxer but limiter by his somewhat low punch resistance. Now Toney has one of the best chins ever that stood up from MW to HW. Kovalev is not KOing him. Then the fight will go the distance or Kovalev is the one getting stopped. I can see Toney out-foxing him after a couple of rounds and generally breaking him down with counters on the inside down the stretch to a convincing UD or a late TKO.
