Gary Cornish fighting tomorrow

I hope he does go on to win titles but I've seen so many Scottish guys getting padded records and when they step up it's not there, let's hope this isn't one of those cases

 

So much more to his current skill set than just reach.

Always improving.

Sam ***ton has always failed when stepped up and will still start favourite against Cornish
I think Cornish needs to get a boxing coach working with him instead of a wannabe coach/ conditioning coach

 

When and where is he fighting SS?

 

That's pretty harsh mate, I agree and have said on here that I think it was a mistake that Gary got rid of Laurie Redfearn but I don't know if there was an underlying Reason for leaving him!

I have been at a couple of Gary's fights up in Inverness and know that Paul Geddes has been part of the set up for a long time as his conditioning coach and together they must think they are better off without Laurie.

Sometimes boxers and coaches just need to move on because things get too familiar and that could be the case but I too would like to see a coach on board that knows his boxing inside out and can maybe help when things aren't going your way in a fight because no matter how long Paul has been with working with Gary, the level of opponents so far have meant there has never been a crisis for him to deal with!! Saying that it doesn't mean that Paul can't sort it out just that he has no experience to my knowledge that he has dealt with a crisis in the ring!

Best of luck to the big man against ***ton, hopefully he can get the win in style and show the massive improvements that 'Natural Mass' (is that you Paul) has told us he has made. Gary has every attribute to succeed we just need to see him put it together against a decent opponent so he can prove doubters wrong and become Scotland's first British Heavyweight Champion!!

 

Purse bids for a British Title Eliminator between the 2 have been scheduled for June and the fight must take place by September I think.

Yes he was put on his arse. But as you may or may not know, he was absolutely fine and it was good to see such composure and an ideal response at such an early stage.

He 'seems' to be improving. - Those who have observed recent evidence have been left in no doubt.

Cornish has and continues to develop into a very real threat to all top teir domestic heavyweights and his skills continue their ascendency.

He has been ready for a step up long before now.

The opportunity to fight and beat ***ton will not be missed.

 

That was a label I was given to disguise the fact that I have been responsible for all of Garys training/coaching from a very early stage.

 

Well I hope your right mate but until he actually achieves something you'd be best served keeping your predictions private coz you could end up looking a right banger if he under achieves.

Just during his pro outings David. And Billy, I'm a realist. Any confidence I have in Gary Cornish is due to Garys attributes, work ethic and development thus far.

You've not seen or heard any wild predictions from me. You never will.

And as far as I'm concerned, with the volume of negative feedback he has received on this forum from you over the years, right now I'd say, according to your opinion, he is currently over achieving.
