it's not about agreeing/disagreeing with opinions. it's about how these guys are portrayed as experts when clearly they are not.

I disagree. I highly prefer the HBO production quality to Showtime's. And to think that one network hypes fighters over the other is pure bull****. Both networks promote their products. With HBO, at least they cleaned out some of the cancer that is hurting the sport and taking away the possibility of fights fans have wanted to see. Yes, I am referring to Espinoza, Schaeffer, Haymon, etc.

i hear this argument all the time....i prefer their production value...blah,blah,blah..

to each their own. i know too much about the sport to accept the bull**** they spew.

espinoza, schaeffer and haymon are kicking ass. meanwhile showtime fired ross greenburg and put in ken hershman all over some bull**** articles written by a toprank shill. bob is a blood sucker. pac is too stupid to realize it. smh.

They are kicking ass for themselves, meanwhile putting out a product that is slowly losing it's shine, while at the same time draining the budget of Showtime, much like they did when at HBO. I admit they are good at getting their fighters money that is way over the fighters actual worth, but it is creating diva practice among fighters. Nobody wants to really prove they are the best anymore and are only concerned with how much money they can get. In a perfect world, greater money would/should come with getting into a fight with greater risk. Fighters should not be getting megabucks for sparring matches. It serves no purpose other than greed.

you sound like you've been reading too many articles written by shills.

i'm all for the fighters getting paid. they are the ones putting their lives on the line, not the promoters.

as far as fighters not taking on risks...you're going to have to be more specific.

That's how I feel about the Showtime crew. 90% of the the time, can't stand them. From Mauro Ranallo's annoying attempt to be a the boxing equivalent of Joe Rogan, to Brian Kenny setting the stage…or NOT setting the stage, Al Bernstein is okay, he knows his boxing, but he's not really that entertaining when calling a fight. Not to mention their bias towards Mayweather. Paulie is good, though.

It's not like HBO is without fault, but I just find watching fights on HBO much more entertaining. Personally, and it's just personal preference so no disrespect to ya, the HBO crew has more interesting commentary throughout a fight. As far being unbiased, I would say they both are, obviously HBO is heavily biased towards Pacquiao as he's their cash cow now that Mayweather went to Showtime. They both can be better, but I do prefer the HBO team especially since I've been watching Lampley for a long time, and I think RJJ really adds to the telecast. Note : Tarver was good on showtime, but I don't think they can have two current boxers on the telecast at once.

Don't play dumb. You know exactly what I am talking about. Look at the latest Showtime PPV for example, and the ridiculous purses that were involved. That was a result of paying fighters much more than they are worth.

I read boxing articles from Google News, which has numerous outlets. I don't know these so called shills you are talking about. Is that something you discovered personally outside the internet message boards? Are you a journalist? Where does your work get posted? I'd read it.

Agreed. It's just our preference. Bernstein is decent, amiable. He is a bit boring though. I dig Paulie's commentary. Watching MMA for a long time, I am also fine with Mauro. The Brian Kenny portion and round table always gets fast forward by me.

When Tarver got popped for peds, he was let go from Showtime. That's why he hasn't been back for announcing.

    lol. who's playing dumb now?

as far as what floyd is being paid...he's the one in the ring. he's the one that everyone is dropping $70 bucks to see lose. kudos to him. it makes me feel bad for guys like pac who aren't aligned with ppl who will help them understand how they're being taken. should bob make more money than pac??? he's not the guy getting put to sleep in the ring.
