Froch and Groves. Things you note and have seen, and things from the first fight to note, or anything that makes you think who the winner will be. 1. There was a preview of Froch and Groves at the table talking on Ringside and someone who knows little of boxing, Froch or Groves saw what I was watching when Groves mentioned about Froch seeing a sports psychologist. Froch was replying and they asked me if he was OK. When I asked why, they said he seems nervous and rattled. Could it be that because Froch has not got as angry visably with Groves this time around that people are missing that he may still feel angry with Groves? We saw him push Groves before. Will this have an affect? 2. In the first fight, Groves and his trainer split up, which I guess would have been disruptive and I think Groves was even dealing with legal disputes right up close to fight time which must have taken time away and been a distraction. Will Groves be better with a stronger training camp? 3. Froch is taking this fight very seriously and knows the power Groves has. What do you think he will try and do differently? What have you seen and who do you think will win?
First time I placed 2 bets on Groves. One for him to win by KO and another for him just to win. I am picking Groves to win again.
Many seem to think, Froch can try and circle using the jab but Groves has the better movement and speed and faster jab., he's not Kessler/Abraham. Groves must jab and pot shot and gradually start hitting Froch with 2-3 punches here and there but not over do it. Groves must also keep his eye on Frochs body language and be more alert to Frochs charges and move and frustrate Froch and attack only on his terms Ala Sugar Ray Leonard, but this can only be done with mental sharpness which wont happen if Groves allows himself into a Slug. Theres not much Froch can add to this fight from the first fight, this fight is Groves fight to win or lose. If he has the maturity and Mental discipline and has learned he wins, if he lets his ego rule his heart he loses.
Let's not forget that with everything that happened in the first fight and how far ahead Groves was .......... That two judges only had him 1 point up. My only hope for the fight is that we have fair judges this time around ........ oh and a referee. Those judges have got away lightly if you ask me.
If Carl wants to win this fight he needs to use his jab more effectively. In the first fight it was awful and that let groves in with his fast combo's He also needs to body punch more, I do believe they effected Groves and slowed him right down. For Groves, if he can pace himself and improve his stamia, he could out point Froch. This is just my personal view but I don't think GG is as conifdent as last time, he hasn't had nowhere near the same success as last time on the media stuff.
Westy78 you just cant out jab a jabber. Groves has an awesome quick stiff jab. Froch can no way out jab GG. What I have noticed is froch is wide open for an uppercut when he charges in swinging, I didn't see GG use this much in the first fight, but I hope he has noticed this after reviewing the tape. Also many people are thinking carls gonna come with a different game plan this time round, but Carl is Carl, as soon as he gets hit hard that game plan goes out the window and Carl goes into warrior macho mode.
If you rewatch the fight, carl doesn't snap his jab like he normally does, its more of a push away no power shot. God knows why he was doing them tactics.....Carl's jab is a lot better then what was shown in the first fight. Carl will stick to the game plan this time - Its all about the body shot my friend !!!!!! Home alone boy will be gassing by round 6
Because he was getting beaten to the jab. Froch has a decent jab, but Groves jab is much superior. Agree that Froch has to go to the body more in this fight. But that means he has to get on the inside more often and as we've seen before, Ward made Froch look very amateur on the inside when they fought.
Its not about getting beaten to the jab...when you watch Carl throw jabs in the first fight they are almost half hearted no power whats so ever, he needs to put more power in the jab. And just because Ward won the inside battle don't mean GG will
this will be a close technical distance fight in my eyes, both will be sharper this time round. I think Groves wins but with regard to the thread title anyone remember just how knackered Froch was before the fight last time?, his eyes were so far set back in his face, he complained all day about how he didnt get any sleep the night before. Pretty sure his location the night before the fight will be top secret this time round.
Why would Carl suddenly throw a **** jab on purpose? He wouldnt. It probably looked **** compared to George's ramrod jab yes
rewatch the first fight then comment, even pro Jim Watt commented on how lack luster the jab was from Froch. Its to do with his mental state, GG had him rattled first fight no question
