If Floyd Mayweather is a cherry picker; Then why did he pick those cherries?

    Mayweather has arguably the best resume in current boxing today. You know his accomplishments and accolades so re-iterating them would be pointless.
    The man gets called a cherry picker. Some would say rightfully so. He only fights for business and not legacy. Well if that's the case. Then why did Floyd Mayweather pick those cherries at that point in his and their career?

    What flaws did Floyd see in his opposition to make him so confident on signing for that fight? He's a cherry picker who has picked some pretty tough fights down the line.

    Floyd has the mind set that if you have already lost then somebody has figured you out and he will too. But he has his fair share of undefeated fighters on his resume too; Canelo, Hatton, Corrales.

    At that point in time when floyd 'cherry picked' his opposition; why did they get picked? Im talking about:

    Undefeated favourtie; Corrales
    Mexican legend - Chavez
    Why 'cherry pick' a guy he arguably lost to in Castillo the rematch
    Moving up to fight Gatti
    De La Hoya
    An undefeated Hatton
    A known cheat in Mosley who everyone begged him to fight for years after coming off his most impressive win against Margo
    Cotto - Another fighter everyone begged him to fight after coming off his personal career highlight win over Margo in the rematch
    Canelo - An unproven yet dangerous fight who is naturally a weight class bigger than him


    Why are were these fighters cherry picked at that particular time?

    Thats why i wrote arguably. Arguably means some people argue for it and others like you oppose it. I dont say he has the best resume. I say he arguably has.

    every single fight floyd has ever had will be seen as a cherry pick by his haters. Literally every single fight. Its been like that since the beginning. First they say he is ducking this person and that this person would beat him, floyd fights and wins obviously, then they claim that fighter was a cherry pick, then repeat.

    I see. So you dont think it matters who he fights. eg If he had fought and beat pac in 09 there would be an excuse. If he fought an undefeated cotto there would be an excuse. Margo - an excuse. Williams - an excuse.

    True.. Then when all the boogeymen are gone they go up in weight.. No one around his weight can challenge him, so he's scared to go past his body's limits and move to mw to fight the #1 mw...

    Outside of earlier in his career, full credit for fighting corrales and Castillo twice, he has strategically picked opponents for their weaknesses and capitalized on them. Pacquiao does the exact same thing fighting guys at catch weights, their handlers know exactly when to make fights with big names and how to put them at a disadvantage.

    Floyd isnt a cherrypicker. The problem is that people want to see him lose, and when someone doesn't lose, all you can do is question opposition. Thats all thats left. Barely any bad fighters on his resume. No bums. Just A & B fighters.

    Everyone has weaknesses.. Since they all don't have the same weaknesses, there's no way to say that.. It's not like a fighter will look at a guy and say 'there's no way I can beat that guy so I want to fight him'.. If you fight someone and don't exploit their weaknesses, then you shouldn't be fighting out need a new trainer...
