Why is Hopkins ducking Kovalev?

    I respect Hopkins because of his age and good shape. He has great skills. Definetly the second best after Kovalev in LHW. But I was shocked, definetly not delighted about his racist thoughts such as: Black athletes genes, I would never lose against a White guy and hate against any White and Asian boxer.
    He's supporting every Black boxer, no matter what kind of skills or character that guy has.

    So, why is he ducking Kovalev? Kovalev will fight everybody, is never ducking anyone. Does Hopkins know he would get destroyed within 3, 4 rounds? Does he want to retire without being destroyed? Why doesn't want he have a challenge?

    Why doesn't he want to fight the likes of Kovalev, GGG, Braehmer?? Why was he ducking Michalczewski?

    kov would kill him that's why. he may sound dumb but hops is pretty intelligent

    B-Hop is oldschool. **** those politics. If he can't talk bad about a boxer because of skin colour, he should prove it in the ring. :deal

    Hopkins doesn't seem like the type of guy to duck anyone, I don't think he's ducking, it's the boxing politics that are preventing the fight from happening not Hopkins IMO. Stevenson on the other hand...

    Kovalev is a thinking fighter, he picks his shots, doesn't rush and has heavy hands. I think Hopkins can see that kovalev would time his body movement and negate his rope-side defense,without wasting shots.
    Kovalev has a great way of "micro-waiting" for an opening: kryptonite to the shell of BH I think.

    Power is always nullified by great fighters. Kovalev can't beat Hop.
