Calzaghe getting off the canvas to dominate a very very good hopkins Basically put calzaghe into the HOF in a single fight
It's not a great win. Pacquiao is an overhyped fighter. Really a B+ fighter who was matched well to make him look like an A fighter.
I'm not talking about significance, I'm purely talking about the value of the victory, if you know what I mean. Like right now, no win in the sport would have more value than someone beating Floyd, because Floyd's stock is the highest, he's the #1 pfp decisively. And also things like whether Marquez got robbed or was taking a beating in the fight shouldn't matter. Just who beat the guy who, at the time, had the highest stature, most expensive stock. But AT THE TIME, not like Marciano beating old man Joe Louis.
Really can't think of anything bigger and more shocking than JMM's KO of Pacquiao. Highly doubt anyone confidently picked Marquez to win by stoppage.
Calzaghe goes in with 40 fights, Lacy with 20. Calzaghe cries in the corner after each round "Daddy, he can't hurt me!", "Dad!!!, he has no power!" and after the fight he rolled on the floor in disbelief as he beat someone with 20 fights. British fans don't realize that this was more embarrassing, desperate and comical than anything. The fact that the odds were 50/50 shows you how irrelevant Calzaghe was.
Really, in the whole history of boxing? (I'm not disputing it, I know very little about boxing history)
Fixed.:good Memo deserves all the credit though. That fluke will forever have an asterisk next to it.
Are we talking about the boxing history here? Douglas beating Tyson tops this one easily.. Douglas was like a 42-1 underdog there.. No where near..
