Personally I think Kovalev has a slight edge in power but Qawi's brutal high volume counter punching offense would break him down and TKO him in R7. Qawi fought in a much tougher era and nearly TKO'd Holyfield @ cruiser, he was an extremely vicious fighter and NOBODY wanted to have anything to do with him back in the early 80's, he had an aura about him that was much more intimidating than Kovalev does today. Qawi vs Leon Spinks was the most brutal beatdown I've ever seen, it put Vitali Klitschko vs Shannon Briggs to shame. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPDtg3_ULIk
Kovalev would get knocked out. Qwai walked through bombs from Gerorge Foreman ffs. He crazed lunatic in the ring.
Dwight was amazing He would beat the **** out of any LHW standing today. Even Hopkins would be at his mercy.
Qawi was an excellent fighter, and it took an ATG to beat a prime version of him at 175. Kovalev needs to do a lot more before I would pick him over Qawi
Prove it, where is the proof? Show me the fight.....................making up crap, a fantasy fight. Kovelev would have the edge, but it would be a real war. Qawi was one of my favorite fighters, but Kovalev is awesome, just ask Stevenson who clearly ducked him because of fear, a proven duck. Ward also refuses to fight Kovalev, Hopkins refused to fight Kovalev when Kovalev was his mandatory..............
They do like Matthew Saad Muhammad losing the WBC Light Heavyweight title and trying to regain it in Philadelphia. Or like Vince Phillips did to Kostya Tszyu.
