Groves a bit embarrassed in this one - Froch's digs were much more subtle and Groves looked like a deer in headlights a lot of the time.

I also bet on Groves to win the first fight because he had the psychological advantage getting under Carl's skin. Froch disrespected a lot of fans with how he conducted himself straight after their first fight. He lost a lot of fans. For some strange reason there is always somebody out there who thinks something is an act. Like they are doing it to sell tickets. The thing is this; Carl has realized he didnt look too good in the build up and after their last fight so now he has nothing to lose by being himself. The media and public opinion can do a lot to your self esteem. It can make you or break you. And right now, it is breaking Groves because he is young and not used to this magnitude. Froch has been here before. Groves got under Carl's skin and is trying again. This time its not going his way and he is going to desperate lengths to rattle him i.e "You claimed you were an international superstar". When Groves refers to old single statement, its his way of making Carl look stupid from something he said (expecting Froch to dispute the statement or agree with it). Instead Froch admits fault and tries to move on. You cannot argue with a man who admits fault, if you do, you come off looking like an a hole. Froch really earnt my respect when he said he would avoid Golovkin. Not many fighters are that truthful about that but Froch (coming to the end of his career now) has nothing to lose by speaking the truth. Groves has more to gain but Froch doesn't lose anything. So why put on an act?
Despite Groves obvious physical advantages in speed and foot movement he may just choke when it comes to the biggest fight in recent British history.

Seem to recall seeing Froch was on another programme with Groves and they were both asked about Golovkin and both saying no probs with facing Golovkin and that he was possibly too small. I think the avoid bit was tongue in cheek as Froch is facing a big punching SMW next and who has Golovkin KOd to create that impression

"Just swerve Golovkin like the plague. Punches like a mule. You dont need to be in with him. Dangerous fight" - Froch

Whether Golovkin has an impressive resume or not really doesn't matter because if you have an iron chinned warrior like Carl Froch saying that who is a weight class above him then thats saying something. Gossip travels around the gyms. Good boxers know who are really dangerous and who are hype. I respect Froch so much more for saying that then pretending he's interested and never making the fight happen. Sometimes hype can blind some people and history tells us that hyped fighters fall hard at one point or another. GGG is a different breed mate. Dont expect that good boy to lose in your lifetime

    Same here!
Loved the way Carl did EXACTLY what he attacked George for doing ( getting confused and using a double negative) at the end!

There's no way I'll never be not winning.....ummm.....this.....non-fight.....:huh

Wow man some people around here are really missing the forest for the trees on the GGG comment. Doesn't anyone think that Froch, a guy whose fought hard punchers like Abraham, Kessler, Taylor, Pascal and Groves, AND whose never swerved anyone is actually being serious when he says that he's ducking a guy?

Seriously the level of trolling on the internet these days is so brutal. It's why I just watch youtube videos and don't read comments or msg much on forums.

The problem with Groves is that he's still stuck on the last fight. He keeps trying to re-hash the things Carl said leading up to the last fight and the aweful stoppage. Carl Froch keeps on saying, okay now lets move on and Groves can't do it.

Why would he joke about avoiding a guy? And when the interviewer replied why didnt Froch interrupt and say "no seriously though..." or whatever.
Stop thinking everything is bull. He has no reason to lie. He's coming to the end of his career. Props to Froch
