The problem is as time moves on great fighters of the past get greater. I think it is a legitimate comparison because fighters have gotten so much bigger. I don't believe Louis could have competed effectively against the biggest HWs today. I think Lewis, the Klitschkos, Holmes, Bowe, even Holyfield would have all beaten Louis. This is taking nothing away from Louis. He was a great fighter, just not that big.

    Good post.
And while my opinion is subjective, based on fact, it will always be opinion.

But to discount a HOF like Adamek and toss him in the trash with the cans is hate.

He's white. Non American. And on a Klitschko's resume. It's enough to get him coupled with Herbie Hide on the next train to bummville.:rofl

Louis was a huge puncher and Adamek isn't hard to find. Adamek would get KO'd badly. Louis didn't have good foot speed or movement and I would take a lot of guys over him, but not Adamek. His style wouldn't give Louis problems IMO.

Finally a sensible non hate post from someone favoring Louis in this matchup.

    :good

Really don't see how Adamek and Marciano are so similar in your eyes. Even if they were, using that to say Adamek would beat Louis based on the fact Marciano did is a flawed method, seeing as though Louis was shot when he fought Rocky.

Anyway, in terms of a Louis Adamek match up, I see Louis stopping him mid to late rounds.

Your'e a good poster bobo. Not a hater or a racist like sooooooooooooo very many on here.

Did you review the vid's I posted?

I've watched most of Marcianos fights that are out there.....like I said, I think I got em all.....
Adamek might be a little tighter with his L hook, and Marciano a little more fluid, but neither has the tell when throwing it, and both throw it almost perfectly inside after a feign.
Sizewise.....I mean look at em. Adamek from the Banks and Cunningham(CW) fights and Marciano from the Louis or Walcott fights.

People seriously overrate nostalgia fighter. I DON'T. I rate them according to where they'd be fighting nowadays.

Walcott would be doing the Super 8 and hoping to catch 40 y/o Rahman or 38 y/o Meehan slipping if he were fighting today. In his prime, I'd say him and Travis Walker would be following an identical career path.

Some people compare Walcott to Sam Peter b/c of his power. What a f/n joke. Sam Peter had an iron chin and was only knocked out by giants.

Walcott was being buckled by the 188 lb Marciano and eventually SPARKED.

Just like the Freight Train vs Adamek.

Big man with the edge early until the china was shattered.:good:good:good

I agree on guys you said but all of them would KO Adamek EASY(like Vitali did), so there is huge difference between Joe Louis vs great HW fighters and Joe Louis vs Adamek :good Joe beats the **** out of him!

I don't know what's worse saying TA (who is the only HW I was a fan of for the longest time) could beat arguably the GOAT at HW or comparing him (who would be lucky to crack the weak CW top ten all time) to a solid top ten HW all time (boxing a glamour division). I think this guy has totally lost it.

The problem with these types of questions is if you have lived through it you have such a better perspective on how things unfolded. Is there anyone posting who actually saw Louis fight in his prime? I know that means you would have to be about 90.

It's like today, everyone says Federer is the best in tennis. Now, because Federer is fading, the ATF is moving toward Nadal. It's like whoever is hot at the moment is thought of as the greatest. Why? Because they are the best right now and everyone always thinks the best is what they are seeing week in and week out beating the heck out of everyone else right now.

Louis may be the best ever, or certainly one of the best. I don't know. He had great power. He seemed a bit plodding and undersized, by today's standards. But he reigned over a long period of time, which is a part of greatness.

Lets flip this question on its head.

Would Nathan Mann have beaten Wladamir Klitschko?

That is the level of disrespect being shown to Joe Louis here!

People have hard enough time admitting that the Klitschko's could beat Louise, let alone Adamek.

Anyway I picked Adamek to win a points decision based on activity alone.

I question what drugs anybody picking Adamek are taking.

    Louis KO 3.
