I don't know if that's true. Most can agree that the glut of sanctioning bodies is pretty damn terrible for boxing and they exist in the sport.

Al Haymon's a brilliant businessman and has found a way to be as powerful as any promoter while assuming none of the risks a promoter does. If boxing had more honest, ethical managers and promoters, the void for a man such as Haymon to wield as much power as he does in the sport simply wouldn't be there.

To me, asking if Al Haymon's good for boxing is the wrong question.

The better question is, why is a global sport so fundamentally mismanaged that a relative rookie to it can walk in and become the Wizard of Oz in such short order?

Do Floyd fans idolize this mysterious man they've never even seen because they don't have a father figure to look up to? That's all I get out of these types of threads. He's one of the shadiest people in boxing but they all respect him because they share some "resemblance" to him. Quite sad honestly.

The Chavez fight seems like it feel through due to an extension, and 3/4 LHW title holders are with Haymon, with guys like M.Garcia/Chavez jr trying to get with Haymon and GBP if Pacquiao would of became a free agent we would have been closer to having all the top fighters under one banner instead of the bs were looking at now.

I don't understand how people fail to see that. I don't care about Haymon personally but for every Broner-Molina Thurman-Diaz fight we also get the Garcia-Matthysse/Broner-Madana's damn near ever top fight this year features a Haymon fighter

But a lot of those good fights happen by accident. Broner was supposed to beat maidana. I'll give you Garcia-Matthysee. That was a great match up on paper and in real life.

Mayweather-Alvarez/Alvarez-Lara, Maidana gets discredited now because he fought Mayweather but guys he's lost to are better than a lot of guys entire resume and guys like Ortiz/Broner would be the best wins on almost every WW's resume. Stevenson-Hopkins is being talked about Alexander-Porter

Al Haymon is truly brilliant. He starts with Paul Williams, Berto and Mayweather originally as his main fighters for awhile. He has Mayweather give him the best endorsements in the world to other fighters and now everybody is hopping on.

I'm sure Al arranged it that all his fighters begin an interview with "First off, I want to thank Al Haymon." Great marketing trick. Then he has Sam Watson and his sons make all the big appearances as he stays in the background and out of the media light

Forcing a lot of his "duller fighters" on to TV is one way. Charlo Vs Ota had no real purpose to be on a care with exciting fighters.

The guy is the fvckin Kaizer Soze of boxing. I went looking for an interview with him, and NOTHING. Like three pictures are the only thing to convince the world he exists.
