Is Degale worthy of being in the mix with Groves and Froch?

If Groves beats Froch this weekend then beats Degale later on in the year... even though he's got 9 - 10 years left in him I don't see how he would top 2014 on a personal level.

he might be,but boxing in school gyms and shopping centres hasn't really furthered his cause and development.

Uhh...the WINNER of DeGale V Gonzales fights the winner of Froch-Groves.....so ATM he's NOT worthy. If and when he gets past Gonz then he's there.

    Pretty simple really.......

Personally I think he has the skills to hang with anyone at 168 and make for a good fight regardless of the outcome of his undercard fight but I don't decide these things so perhaps if he loses he'll have to have another year or two of crawling up the rankings again. Wish these fights could happen 4-5 times a year instead of once but there you go......not my a$$ on the line.

What did Groves do to warrant a fight with Froch?
Since Degale vs Groves, where the decision went the wrong way btw, Degale has fought and beaten better comp than Groves has, with the notable exception of the corpse of Glen Johnson. So other than the corpse of Glen Johnson, Groves' best win going into the first Froch fight was...Smith.

So why did you start this thread?

Wasn't groves mandatory for the fight??? Also if de gale wins his fight Saturday he is mandatory for the IBF so has earned a shot. Its not rocket science.

So at least he was deserving of the shot although at the time I didn't think he was.

Then degale derseve his shot cause he's next in line if he wins plus he's been mando for another strap, just like groves was for Steiglez last year.

If Degale wins on Saturday he's mandatory challenger, so he's not worthy at this moment in time. I expect that he will do the job this weekend, which will make him worthy of challenging.
