    well the same reason
why a guy who spars with you just using his jab

is excused for getting hit more so then in usual sparring

    Huh?

My point was he didn't do a pullup. It makes no difference if it's with 1 finger, 3 fingers or one hand, if it's not a pullup it's not a pullup.

my point was that you can not have the same strict standards on a guy doing something with 1 finger. OF COURSE IT WOULD NOT BE AS GOOD

most guys you see doing "FULL PULL ups"
would not even be able to hold themselfs up there with 1 finger etc

Go back and read what you quoted me saying, I already gave you an answer to this. I wasn't even being strict, the guy isn't even doing half ROM.

Also, what you said is just dumb. You're basically saying if you make a lift really difficult, forget about full range of motion and form as long as you go through at least 10% of the movement it still counts! :patsch

Your way of thinking I could easily be a powerlifter. Un-rack the weight, drop 3 inches then stand back up. It's a ****ing heavy ass weight! You don't expect me to do an actual full ROM squat do you?! :patsch

Because, unless you're a rock climber for example, it's entirely pointless. Why would the average gym rat train to hang off the pullup bar on a single finger? :huh

I weigh about 180lbs. I can do 2 finger pullups now if I walked into the gym, full ROM. It wouldn't take long to be able to do 1 finger if I actually trained for it.

I'd agree with that after watching some of the bouldering championships.
