yeah that Lalonde fight was a joke. he reminded me of that actor from Brooks Shield's debut film, Blue Lagoon

those in the crowd must have wondered "who is this guy? Why havent we heard of him?"

the guy had no past, no review of past fights, no buildup whatsoever becuz how you going to build up Donny?

Donny never owned two titles, and was lucky he had one. Leonard gets 13 mill but can only afford to share 750 K with Pryor??? Lalonde was no Aaron Pryor but he gets 13 mil for an unpolished, stypically crude & slow leonard opponent?

Donny was another Dave green, only bigger. No way Ray shouldve got 13 mil. two mil tops

I honestly dont understand how anyone can be a fan of this guy, and actually refer to him with reverence like he's Joe Louis or something!

then they call him the second best welter just behind Robinson. even that's not true becuz ou have Napoles who I've seen and I will swear to anyone that Napoles was way better. He did more. he was in there with better people and was champion for much longer

wait let me guess, Leonard's EYE prevented him from making further defenses!

forget the fact that he had seven more fights up to the age of 40

see? his fans dont get that! they're what you would call a state of denial. They see only what they want to see, acknowledge only what they want YOu to know, then cover up the bad parts they are too embarassed to mention.

it's a free country but least they could do is stop lying in their defense of him. seriously, people are smarter than that.

I I personally dont believe Leonard was too big for Floyd becuz for one, Ray Leonard was only a runner and number two, Floyd being a smaller man, would just use his speed to bewitch, bother N bewilder the **** out of Ray like how Norris & Camacho did

I see you didn't address my points ,I knew you wouldn't.
The first Brown fight, the Jackson one, the Mullings one, the Rosenblatt and the Boudouani ones sure weren't close.Norris was stopped in 4 of them and lost a unanimous decision in the other.

I'm referring to the obvious difference between Leonard coming back after 3 years and beating the current middleweight champion without having fought at the weight ,and him coming out of a 2 years retirement and being beaten at the age of 34 by a 23 years old Norris.

Which you say merits the same kudos when it patently does not.And everyone but yourself knows it.

I've brougt this up countless times. Hagler had no legs, no reflexes, no punch - THAT'S HOW

otherwise, Marvin wouldve mopped the floor with delicate Ray Leonard

as or Norris, Ray was NOT inactive for two years. see how you people fabriate? Do you think I cant count? that's 14 months just over one year. surely someone as reputed as Ray Leonard can find ways to stay sharp. It's not as tho he was off for three years or five years or whatever figure you people lik to use. You'r just looking for some excuse to use. you're desperate. you're confused and that's why you go these lengths to fabricate

Floyd doesnt need anyone to fabricate for him. you didnt see Floyd getting his ass kicked at 34, and 4 years later, it still hasnt happened. that spells superiority and like I said, Floyd was just cut from better stock

Floyd is a genuine great, he won't be getting stopped by the likes of Keith Mullings any time soon .I'm not desperate at all, I can easily see a case for Floyd I just think Leonard beats him.

Leonard went FIVE years only having ONE fight and upon his return was squaring off with hall of fame greats.. Its possible Floyd may have been better, but your comparisons suck.

of course you are when you consistently stretch and say Ray was off two years. You think I cant count and see thru your deceit?

Boy, I was born and bred in the college! thinking thru things is my bread & butter and so is making mincemeat of you so with every reply you make, you come across more disingenuous each time..... making yourself out as what I called you - desperate

you're desperate with nothing to hang your hopes on

and whether Norris was great or not isnt the issue. the issue is whether Ray Leonard can deal with a fighter of Floyd's caliber and speed.

    and the returns say no

why do I say this? becuz Ray with all his experience, was no match for the less experienced but much faster, Norris

if he cant deal with Norris, he's not likely to do much better against Floyd

and just like Foxy said, both men have had lengthy layoffs, the only difference being, Floyd WON his whereas Ray was ruined by Norris

that's why I say everything Ray did, Floyd does better and their performance after layoffs furhter proves my point

Some of the fighters SRL fought and beat would have beat Floyd as well ... Hagler,Duran and Hearns without a doubt. So when analyzing PBF,s phony O start with comparing quality opponents in their prime...Leonard stops PBF late... His power, speed and true fighting spirit would be too much for Floyd. He won,t ever beat a fighter with SRL,s pedigree with just slick defense alone... `81` SRL puts a hurting on PBF... Evil sisters rooster and foxy, even thought I know you can,t resist... Don,t bother you are on the ignore status... Know watch how they are unable to read and will respond anyway ;) I just don,t see PBF having anything to gain SRL,s respect and trust me, SRL CAN hurt him... An older Mosely rocked him, SRL finishes him...

And Terry Norris was a true Jr. Middle in the peak of his prime and would likely beat Floyd as well. Leonard entered the ring against Norris just two months shy of his 35th birthday and only having fought once in 20 months against a fighter who was just as washed up as he was. Ray took a pounding in that bout to the extent where the crowd was chanting " stop the fight". But Leonard continued while the fans had already quit.
