Margarito did'nt suck after the Mosely fight, his career was actually put to a halt as the Texas commision sat with arms crossed and let Manny Pacquiao load his gloves to then bomard Margarito with them.

Freddie Roach was allowed to roll up thick pieces of tape to put on Pacquiao inbetween his knuckles. This is fact!

For once I agree with you, commisions are bought off just like boxing judges and referees are.

......and for the record, I've always posted that the evidence was'nt there to convict Margarito or even Capetillo or the California commision would have done so.
Imo the knucklepad confiscated that night on Margarito were just old pads that had been stiffened because they were once were soaked with sweat from having used them.

If you take a piece of terry cloth and use it a few times to wash your car, after awhile after you just leave it there to dry, it dries stiff. It becomes stiff but not plaster hard as was described by some with Margarito's knucklepads.

What alot of people fail to realize is that there were some commision members who desribed that pads as such, "stiff, but not hard."
The dissapointing part about it is that very few media outlets reported such statements from commision members.

 

im not going to say margo is/was either or. that's the commissioner's job.

Only thing needed to be known about Margarat is that he was able to make people bleed from their eyes and ears, crush orbitals of those with head gear on, makes ears explode, take 0's from beasts before he was caught and after you ask?? Theres no secret that heading into the Mosley fight weighin Margarito was having a hell of a time making the welterweight limit. You can ping that on his poor perfomance in that fight, along with getting rattled by the antics in the dressing room from Nasim Richardson.

Margarito had a hard time making the weight limit for Pacquiao as well, he was bone dry at the weighin. Along with that, Pacquiao is allowed to load his handwraps with tape to create high ridges inbetween his knuckles.
Its been explained many times in this forum on how such a way to wrap creates a hard hitting area where the tape is placed, thus why Margarito got his orbital bone cracked by the handwraps of Pacquiao.

Who else has Pacquiao busted up like that. Pacquiao cracked Margarito face with a single shot that did'nt even put him down. Just the concentration of the hard high ridges from that tape on Pacquiao's handwraps made Margarito face at the eye area crack.

Cotto got damaged goods when he faced Margarito, and even then he had a hell of a time against a one eyed Margarito as Margarito was coming on at the time the ref stopped the fight due to the swelling around Margarito's eye.

Margarito lost two fights after Mosley, against a loaded glove Pacquiao and he lost to Cotto fighting with an eye that previous to the Pacquiao fight was not prone to swell.
Thats not proof enough for me that Margarito was nothing after the handwrap issue.

Pre-handwrap issue Margarito was always a fighter that took punishment. His defense was very leaky. After the Pacquiao fight where Margarito's eye got damaged, that leaky defense did'nt allow for Margarito to sustain the type of damage he took in his prime without having his eye totally get shut.

Margarito was an accumlative puncher who took punishment throughout his career, Pacquiao's loaded gloves put a halt to Margarito being able to stay intact to take that type of punishment.
