Carl looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders today, Groves on the other hand looked a bit dry at the weight! Take from that what you will:good
Agreed, think Froch looked a little edgy and twitchy. Still, all the verbal sparring and prefight crap is over. Roll on tomorrow.
I don't usually read too much into it. But you could see Froch even before the face off starting nervous chit chat with Eddie etc. He's shaken!
He said earlier in the week he was feeling a bit nervous i cant say wether thats a good or bad thing because ive never studied him in previous fights!
he probably is a bit scared, groves battered him last time. he knows he not as quick and as clever. he's just gonna have to alot of punishment before groves fails, just inevitable that he gets hurt, unless the tables are reversed this time and froch chins groves in the 1st then it will be an early night.
In the ifilm interview after the press conference what did Paddy say when he put his hand on Froch's shoulder? Seemed pissed off and said something about family. Carl just said, "You're welcome!".
Lol all this pre fight nonsense has very little bearing in a fight. Froch will stop groves again. 1st fight proved that froch takes a great shot and can withstand the early onslaught from groves. If frochs chin holds up again froch will stop him again. Groves isn't as durable as kessler nor as skillful as ward and that only leads to one outcome.
Froch looked petrified, like a lamb knowing he's going to the slaughter. He says he's in his 'best shape ever' before every fight - including the last one! Watch the first fight - Groves wins every minute of the first five rounds and wasn't even in a great place mentally or physically with the circumstances at the time. In fact, watch most of Froch's fights - Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler I, Johnson, Ward, Groves I. He looks awful, desperately struggles and appears to lose most rounds. Bute was just a deer in the headlights - Groves is a different animal. Froch is now 4 years removed from the Abraham performance and not a million miles from being 40 years old. Groves looked far more impressive against Johnson than Froch did. Everything points to Groves.
I don't see how anyone can think at this point that Froch is going to wilt in there. He might lose, but he's proven he'll go out on his shield to win repeatedly, including in their first fight. Groves will have to work hard and put forth a very disciplined performance to beat him.
Triangulation theories using common opponents is bollocks. Go and watch how easily Bute dealt with Johnson, he totally passified him, and had Johnson scared to engage for fear of being hit with the liver shot. And Froch dismantled Bute, and hardly took a shot in the process. Froch and Groves performance against johnson have absolutely no bearing on this fight.
Froch scared? No chance from a man who's been involved in many big fights. Nervous? Why not, he has a pulse.
He's about to be brutally demolished in front of 80,000 people... I would be nervous and stressed too
Froch will crumble before the first bell, can you imagine how he will feel with 80% of the crowd booing his entrance, SGG is going to make this look very easy.
