Well that's an annoying ending to what was a good fight. 10 Seconds left in the round, stopping it like that is stupid. Maduma was up, yes sure he was hurt but that's boxing, he could hold on see out the round and come on strong in the 12th.
Stupid stupid decision.

 

He stumbled as he was being counted, Id say most refs would wave it off then.

 

Hmm we've had one knock out via left hook and we've had one late come from behind possibly premature stoppage after the guy who was probably winning gassed. Omens? :think

I was impressed how Mitchell took some big bombs. Burns who is a light puncher literally destroyed him and Katsidis stop him fairly easy so today his chin held up pretty nicely.

Hmmm...looking at the replay he fell into the ropes as he was being counted. Ref gave himself time to look into his eyes too, not a bad call for me.

 

Maduma almost fell over when he got up the second time.

Stoppage was fine.

Cunningham was dropped twice, hard knockdowns. He came back and won the fight :deal

 

If that was mitchell, they wouldnt have stopped it so early and let mitchell carry on.

If this mitchell comes world champ then it just shows how bad the division is.
