I think Lewis would win on points. Bigger, longer reach and superior boxing skills would win him the fight.

Would be a tough one but Ali's speed would be the key. Muhammad also had a tough enough chin to absorb the dangerous shots Lennox would land.

    Ali on points

Ali's speed and movement make the difference, he takes a decision here.

Ali would catch him like Rahman and McCall did.

Not if Lennox is focused. In the fights you mentioned,Lewis thought that all he had to do was turn up.

Muhammad beats Lennox but it would go to the cards or possibly very late stoppage.

It's hard to say if Ali ever beat anyone with the similar sort of attributes as Lewis, or close to that.

But I'm even surer of the fact that Lewis never faced anyone like Ali.
In fact, the almost complete absence of quick-footed stick-and-move or slick, mobile, boxer types on Lewis's resume is glaring.

The two best boxers of all time

    Ali has speed
    Better chin
Enough power to finish Lennox late
And the bigger will to win

    Lennox has serious power
    Better jab
And Lennox never lost in any big occasion fight

Klitschko wasn't a big fight at the time it was made

I would have thought that it was less damaging to loose to somebody who was given a good chance of beating you!

    Nah

It just meant on smaller occasions he didn't bother giving 100%

On the big occasion he was always flawless

The only criticism you can level against Lewis is that his safety first meant fighters stayed in there longer than they needed to

There's not a ton of stylistic diversity there. Plenty of orthodox sluggers, some brawlers, but not much in the way of pure boxers, and southpaws are non-existant.

Simply put, we really don't have much of a framework to suggest how Lennox handles speed and a great jab. While Lennox was able to outjab most of his opposition, many weren't apt to being great jabbers, either. Mercer had a ton of success with his jab and had the edge on it despite having a significant height and reach advantage. I actually think there's a damn good argument for Ray winning that fight, but even if you think Lennox edged it, Ray's jab was a key weapon and nobody expected him to outjab Lennox going into it.

With Ali, I'm thinking that could be the opening he exploits.

Neither man has ever really faced a fighter of the other's description. Lewis is a big man who can both box and punch while also possessing a lot of power and athleticism. Ali is probably the fastest heavyweight of all time with elite level skill, good wingspan, huge heart, durability and track record of going 15. Tough one to call, but I think Muhammad could adapt a little bit better to a fighter of Lewis's make than vice versa. Lennox did well when chopping down the big boys who could hit but were also there to BE hit. Ali is a breed of animal totally dissimilar to anything Lewis ever came close to facing..

Muhammad by points in a close fight over 12 or 15.
