He has more overall skill and and has better hand skills than froch.

He also is more athletic than Carl .

But this is why i say he needs to get a American Trainer.

He fights with a really jittery nervous type style that causes him to lose energy.

He also needs to use his feet more to get in and out of range.

    Another cardinal sin he makes.

He fights with his left hand carried very low that is why he got caught today

He has to much overall talent to be getting hit as much as he does

To beat froch you really have to stop those bums rushes he fights in

He's packing serious british glass, has no stamina, has no left hook, and he's gong to have serious confidence problems facing a puncher who walks him down.

i dont expect to ever hear his name again on this side of the sea.

Not following up when he had Froch hurt cost him both times.

Keeps his left hand way too low.
He's the definition of a headhunter.
I agree that he fights in a jittery manner, meaning that he loses energy and often gets put on the back foot in fights. But he's fast enough that being on the back foot is a blessing.

He's a talented fighter but has quite a bit to improve. Agree that he needs a trainer who can take him to the next level.

    US based trainer I'd say.

Honestly I think Groves could get enormous benefit from Abel Sanchez, Freddie Roach or Robert Garcia.

Might benefit him to get out of the UK limelight for a bit, work on his game and beat up a few fringe contenders for a couple years. Hes only 26. He has talent, if he ironed out his game a bit and learned to body punch , and better positioning he could make a big comeback in a couple years.

He also needs to go to the body more when a guy knows youre never going to go to the body you make it easy for them.

Froch was never hurt in second fight, at best buzzed. And is hard to knock out.

Needs to stop imitating Haye's style and find his own. No point of the low left hand if your chin is susceptible. That KO aside, he really doesn't respond well to being hit. Needs a new trainer, needs to learn to settle down and get that left hand up.

  11. I've met Paddy I like him a lot nice guy and has traveled around learning to be a better coach.

But Froch won because of better coaching. Groves could do with the help of a Roach, Shields or Robert Garcia

He also has chin issues. Froch has average power, he shouldn't of been KO like that.

I like him, I even picked him to win.

Groves landed a good hard left hand and a couple of right hands, and that's it.
Seemed like just one shot at a time.
Either too worried about going 12 or couldn't live with what Froch was throwing back.

Definitely has talent but there are defensive flaws he needs to work on. He could be better on the inside and he still hasn't proven he can comfortably go 12 rounds at the top level.
I think he should have been a bit more aggressive in that last fight.
A top trainer and more experience would do him some good
