Ah, that explains why nobody's tweets referred to Esteche with terms like "ganador" or "derrota". They all just made vague mention of her defending successfully, but that it 'should have' been a MD for Kulakova. So those point deductions were enough to change it to a draw. :think

Round 1

Chudinov is reaching across with his jab, caught by a counter left hand from Nielsen. Chudinov lands with a right stepping inside through a series of Nielsen right hooks buttressed on the other side by hard up-shot lefts. Good action, both getting hit and bailing on their defense.

Round 2

Chudinov is pressing in as Nielsen tries leading him around the perimeter with right jabs dropping in to poison the well. Chudinov leads with left hooks up top and powers in uppercuts and hard straight rights to the body inside. Nielsen is caught and buzzed with a left hook backing up along the ropes but regains his composure and balance and covers up, popping right jabs and short left crosses as he dances on his toes. Chudinov keeps walking him down intently.

Neither of them has shown much fragility in their careers so far, but they are both so damn offensive-minded, this was bound to be a war and you have to figure through attrition, somebody won't be able to hack it.

They haven't faced punchers/aggressive fighters quite like each other before, either of them.

 

Round 3

Chudinov is inch-worming his jab up by Nielsen's face, using it to set up the heavy right cross, plowing holes into Nielsen's chest or catching him occasionally about the face when his arms lower. Nielsen is dancing away, ducking and drifting aside, tying up when Chudinov gets close, pawing out with the right jab the entire time. Chudinov lands body shots in the clinch and covers up in a peekaboo stance while approaching at submarine depths, catching light flurries from Nielsen on the crown or backsides of his gloves.

Perhaps Mark Nelson determined that Kulakova had an unfair advantage pressing her boobs into Esteche.

I know that would distract me.

 

Patrick was unready for this.

Chudinov is no world beater and never will become one, but he is a solid contender - heavy-handed and teak-tough - and too much of a step up for Nielsen despite technically having only half the pro experience. (but of higher quality)
