Sergio wont be allowed to wear knee brace for Cotto match

I've heard he's also not allowed to use his cane or his walker.

 

It so appears that Cotto is planning to cheat to win the fight. Cotto has his venue, his judges, his referee, his boxing commission, his announcers, his gloves and now will not allow Martinez to wear a knee brace.................however, Martinez will not need to move much as he is bigger, stronger, faster, punches much harder and will still knock Cotto out, if his knee gives him trouble he will just go for the knockout sooner. Cotto is a cheat....................

 

It doesn't say Martinez requested to wear it or Cotto requested he not wear it. Why anyone think the commission would allow Martinez to wear a hard ass potential injury causing brace is beyond me, what's next, a fighter finds out he can't wear a cast on his arm on joker's have an uproar about that too??

 

100% agree. Sergio's lack of mobility will certainly make it easier for Cotto to cut off the ring . I'm just not sure if he'll have enough energy to evade the jab, left hand, right hook AND uppercut the entire fight. Sergio's length is a major advantage against a guy like Cotto and I don't believe his knee is bad enough to offset that.

 

That sucks.
But I'm pretty confident it won't be too much of a problem, even if it's as bad as against JCC jr or Murray I still favor Maravilla to win. Cotto is no MW.

 

That is ridiculous. The knee brace (having had ACL surgery) inhibits movement. I bet Cotto's behind this, or some NYAC PR's. It is BS galore.

 

Why would Martinez have to move that much.

It looks like I am the only one on here who would like to see Cotto win.
I like Martinez too so I will be happy with a good fight, but I have really enjoyed Cottos career and have seen much more of it than Sergios.
The article doesn't say that Cotto has anything to do with the knee brace not being allowed.
With regards insisting he enters second etc, if you can make such demands then why not?

Yes, they're very cumbersome.
Have a 13% tear in L ACL and a knot the size of a gumball behind the knee due to the ligament rolling up like a knot.
Doc gives me this mechanical brace to ensure my knee doesnt bend forward while working. Hell, Im trying to lay tile with this thing and it's like having a wooden leg.

Yeah, their are different adjustments that can be made to loosen it, but I can't imagine it helping him in the ring tbph. Cotto may just be afraid of ripping his own leg open should the two clash.

Those things are bad like that. I turned one time and carved an etch into this woman's cherry vanity. Cost me almost $130 to have the one side replaced. :yep

 

I don't see what could possibly go wrong with something like that in a boxing ring.
