u can't blame Oscar for wanting to ride out the cold war with his boys....not his fault Richard isn't equipped with what it takes to make that step....good riddance
A couple things on that. One being Oscar might have been saying that strictly for legal reasons. Contracts at that level have different stipulations depending on who leaves/gets fired. One obvious example is the golden parachutes execs tend to get. Oscar fires Schaefer, Schaefer gets golden parachute. Schaefer leaves, Oscars attorney says "we got contract through 2018". If Oscar fired Schaefer, then Schaefer may have been able to claim breach of contract. The other is that Schaefer is a great operations guy. If Oscar could get him to take the company in the direction he wanted, there is no reason to get rid of him. Oscar wants to tell his company what type of sausage should be made, but Schaefer was the one who was good at actually grinding the sausage. But in either case, there is no advantage to Oscar saying he wants to fire Schaefer. Legally and financially it makes no sense in any scenario for Oscar to say he wanted Schaefer out so you cant really draw any deeper conclusions.
Haymon was the man behind the scene of some of the biggest Hip Hop and R&B tours in music history.:deal Where have you been? Budweiser Anheuser-Busch was his chief sponsor, it doesn't get any bigger than that. Haymon not showing his face is part of the allure it's his master stroke to his master plan to take over the sport.yep
Let her lick her chops. Haymon is a mater business man he won't be tied to any of this stuff. Hell you can barely find a picture of the man you think he won't have his bases covered there to?
I know about haymon...but this is the boxing world, not hip hop homie.....not hard to fill up a arena full of hip hop artists but it's hard to put asses in seats in boxing....Floyd knows about that, reason why he asked daddy Oscar for help do you even know why haymon stopped promoting concerts ??? didn't think so :deal
while what you say seems plausible and has logic applied to it schaefer isnt a dummy...if he knows oscar wants him out....why would he just step aside for him? wouldnt schaefer actually have leverage to say "ok you can fire me".......otherwise hes still running the show... schaefer wouldnt just step down without having a clue about whats next....at least i dont think so.....hes not stupid like i said before....schaefer keeping a good/healthy/beneficial relationship with haymon was key for golden boy...... no one may like the fact that haymon wields that much power....and may deem it dangerous to golden boy as a company.....but its just the way it is.....schaefer obviously thought so....and i dunno how well golden boy has been doing....great or not.....but things seem to be going ok to good for them.....but just because it may look dangerous and not be the standard model of how promotional companies do business.....doesnt mean it is bad or dangerous......old models always get traded in and things progress....sometimes you have to change the way business is done like billy beane said "adapt or die"........
well he did walk away from an opportunity to make history, and tons more money......all for his ego that's pretty stupid
You're mad huh?:rofl Richard PBF and Haymon are about to take over the boxing landscape they have the fighters they have the brains they have the backing and they have the power.:deal It's all there for them to take. GBP is a sinking ship how many guys do they really have on long term contracts? They might as well and try to merge with Top Rank. Oscar was too busy doing dope and dressing in drag to run his company properly Richard did it for him took it to the next level and now Richard is out. Haymon was still doing concerts and stage plays all over the country. What are you talking about?
well thats your opinion....you are entitled to it....but again i disagree arum has been jerking schaefer around for years in regards to the "fight".....schaefer grew tired of it....thats at least how i see it.... dont forget the donaire/mares debacle....where arum basically said "im the a-side....donaire gets the bigger purses....so well take over...if you want the fight....well promote it....you step aside".....schaefer was a bit insulted because he wanted to do business and was willing to.....yet arum acted as if he was god...and gb/mares/schaefer werent **** so schaefer suggested the same thing in regards to floyd/manny....and floyd even called manny and manny said "50/50 or nothing".....well manny isnt 50 percent of that fight anymore in reality...and floyd gets the bigger purses......whats good for the goose my friend
Schaefer cannot build a promotions co because of his non-compete clause. Haymon cannot build a promotions co because he is an adviser/manager. Yeah right, they are going to be a powerhouse in promotions and will sink GBP.
A non compete clause isn't worth the paper that it's written on. California has a very loose policy on non compete clauses.:deal
