Yeah, Cotto is faster and a much better boxer than either guy so he should land more cleanly. But like I said, I doubt it will have much effect. There is a big disparity in size. I don't think Cotto can beat any legit, elite LMW. He is too small. He fought Trout and looked terrible, partly because he was just so much smaller than Trout and nothing he landed had any effect. To me, this is essentially a MW fighting a WW. But the key question for me is how bad is Sergio's knees and how much it hinders his mobility? If it's pretty bad, I would say Cotto has a pretty decent shot at outboxing him. Sergio has shown in the past that he can be outboxed. And I think that's the biggest reason why the betting odds are only -200 for Sergio.

And yes. Cotto will target Martinez's gut hard in first half of fight. N it will have a huge effect. Sergio can't run like he needs to train properly. All them body shots n he's done.

This is a nice fight. Both fignters have accepted huge challenges in the past and have earned their place in boxing history. I am just worried that when the bullsh!t stops and both men are in the ring, it may not be competitive.

He had Trout's attention on some exchanges.....Cotto just was not mentally in the fight is why he made wholesale changes with trainers.

He also, beat Mayorga convincingly....so you cannot dismiss his power at that weight!!!

 I'm so sick of Cotto fans saying how a new trainer will make him better and how technically flawed he was prior. First it was that Cuban guy, and everyone swore that Cotto was better than ever. Now, it's Roach. So it's an admission from Cotto that the Cuban guy wasn't getting it done. Please. I've never seen a guy be given so many excuses for his failures. He always has technical flaws that only a new trainer can fix.

And Mayorga is a punching bag. I said, "elite" LMWs, not a punching bag.

Cotto's new trainer is not about fixing technical flaws. He said he when he approached Freddie "I don't know how much I have left in me but I want you to be my trainer to the end" Given that statement, his performance against Trout, and what Freddie is known for it's not hard to figure out that Cotto is trying to find someone who can replace the fire he has lost for the sport.

If you need a trainer to rekindle you're fire, you're already in trouble. But Cotto seems motivated to me. The opportunity to be the first PR to win belts in 4 divisions. He's just one of those guys that constantly changes trainers for some reason.

But if Sergio's knee is 75%, he should KO Cotto. No matter what Cotto does, nothing will change the fact that he crumbles under pressure and his face busts up easily.

Mayweather, Pacquiao, Torres, Abdullaev, Trout, Judah, Clottey, Mosley, Malignaggi, Concreto with loaded gloves and Corley were all cripples, weren't they?. ******.

Yuri Foreman, former Cotto opponent, was wearing a knee brace.

He is allowed to wear a knee sleeve however under certain NYSAC guidelines, but no brace. The sleeve will give the knee some extra support.

As long as it (1) doesn't give him a competitive advantage, (2) doesn't pose a risk to the opponent & (3) the boxer - without the knee sleeve - is medically fit to compete.

There it is, and what do you know, it has nothing to do with Cotto, everything to do with safety, competitive advantage, and it was all obvious...except of course to the usual round robin of re re's...

It's not easy to fill the void of having lost a career long trainer you didn't plan to fire. And Cotto crumbling under pressure is a tiresome point it self. I mean really, what is there to go off, a plastered Margarato, or an at the time offensive power house in Pac who he fought with a style that favored him?? You can't call anyone else "crumbling" since he either won, did better than expected, or lost while he was the one advancing.

I still don't see why both guys standing on their own two knees is a problem.
